Squad looking better

Recommended Posts

Bit by bit the squad has taken shape. Good cover and options in most positions.

GK x 2

Right/Central CBs - Iorfa, Lees, Dunkley, Borner, Palmer

Left CB - Borner, JVA, Palmer

RWB - Harris, Kachunga, Palmer, Moses, Reach

LWB - Reach, Penney, Harris

CM - Bannan, Luongo, Brown, Fis, Hunt, Windass, Reach, Joey

STR - Rhodes, Windass, Kachunga

I think one more quality CM to avoid it being weakened by an injury to Brown, Luongo or Bannan, and one more striker, and that’s a really decent squad.

At least one striker needed probably two so we can consider Windass as an auxiliary CM, I think we need a LWB if Reach isn't going to be an option there and personally I think we need another keeper

While I agree totally and Saturdays performance showed we seem more together as a team /unit. Though I think we're hoping that hunt can step into midfield when needed. Which I'd like to see.

Ideal world Garner, Zohore, Sanderson and another CF.

With Pelupussy, Westwood leaving and Odubajo, but as I've said previously not too far off the best window we've had for 5 years anyway

Agree with these ideal signings, possibly someone like Simmonds from Man City would be good as the extra forward.

My whelm would be happy

Completely agree with you imo if we lose Brown or Luongo to injury we would really struggle. Keeping them both fit is so important I feel.

Both have history of injuries unfortunately so cant see us getting 46 games out of them.

could do with a pacey forward to come on to see out games and run the channels etc.

Harris could be that player if we find a better option at RWB i suppose

We have 3 natural right backs, the kid from Wimbledon, Palmer and Odd-job, so for me we need one of them to actually step up to the plate, though unless we use wingers Harris is a bit redundant. Monk likes to utilise Harris pace and workrate in the right wingback role, so we'll see how it goes.

Sorry but I fail to see how anyone can say we have good cover and options up front.

Windass is no more a striker than Reach or Harris are.

Kachunga has spent most of the last 3 years either playing wide right, or on a bench.

Our striker department is massively lacking.  If we only sign one more striker this transfer window, we are going to struggle.

I’d also say that CDM, LWB and GK are weak areas that require upgrades.

We’re still at least 5 signings short of having enough to stay up IMO.

He very clearly is, check out the 3 players scoring records for an easy indication.
