He really does sound like a deluded supporter doesn't he

He is now doing everything he can to keep the supporters on side so he can get his annual pay rise by saying that all the supporters want him to stay to lead them back to a place where no one wants them anyway

Trying to get a siege mentality in place for next season when the fans are back. He knows that they are going to struggle to be at the top the way things are

Oh and what he says will become a fact, again conveniently forgetting the truth, without VAR they would have 5/6 points?

He's basically saying there's a conspiracy against United:

"We've just got a long list of decisions that have gone against [us] but they won't have to put up with us much longer. There'll be another promoted team that comes into the division and will get the rubbish decisions that we are on the end of."

Considering they are everyone's second favourite team, it would be daft of the premier league to want rid of such a popular team, surely?

Errrr... Weren't Fulham just promoted... so the point of promoted clubs not getting decisions is totally irrelevant.

Also, not a VAR fault is it? Ref didn't give it and was overturned by VAR, was just a case of both VAR and Ref not thinking it was a penalty.

Pretty sure this is their second season after they finished a whopping 9th in the Prem...so, by definition, they are not a promoted side.

Further, as pointed out already, Fulham are in fact a promoted side.

The season after finishing 9th (best season ever, poor sods) and spending about £55m "improving" that squad,  with a third of the season still to go even if they won every single game they'd still be 4 points short of what they got last year.

That's pigonomics.

Can you please stop applying the truth and logic... Chris is a demi-god and as such the blinkered followers never challenge a word he says...

The rhetoric is that VAR is against them. And so are the refs and the FA. And the council, and the Star, and Radio Sheffield.

As long as you don't mention all the times when it's been in their favour, obviously. They've had at least 4 penalties awarded by VAR this season that the onfield ref either didn't see or think warranted a penalty, and Fat Billy alone benefited 3 times in 2 games with a penalty that he fouled their player for, somehow got away with a red card challenge in the same game, and then got away with fouling the Man Utd keeper for a goal in a game that he should have been suspended for - but they didn't get one at Fulham so VAR is bad, mmm-kay.

Thing is, we know the truth as highlighted. But in national press hardly anybody pays them any heed, so when he's spouting this the less we'll versed average Joe fan buys it and it lingers in there mind.

He's a bellend, but he's playing the national media well

So Wilder doesn’t understand VAR? What he meant was that he understands it all too well on the numerous occasions his team has benefited from it, but on the odd occasion it doesn’t, then out goes the dummy.

Exactly this. Warnock pulled something similar, especially in the championship with them. Claimed demonstrably false things but he was given a pass as he was ‘good value’. I think if a manager plays on the ‘boyhood fan’ thing it also helps.

I think if you look at the thread on bladesmad re his press conference he’s doing anything but keep the great unwashed on side. So much vitriol against him in that thread. It’s a great read. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Just had a look. They are beginning to turn against him if that site is representative of the fan base overall.
