TheEnchanter
£23M for Brewster bear with his zero prem appearances. He's also on a 3 year buy back clause so its like a glorified loan deal innit. £110M net spend piggies. Wilder signs another pig hitter. bradowl
Liverpool fans seem to rate this Brewster even though he's never played for them in Premier League, I can't recall him playing in any of cup games either. £23m is a lot of money for a player that's shown potential in 20 championship games, he's also played for England U21s 8 times scoring zero goals. Obviously this could go either way, but if it was us, I'd be puzzled. What they need is a proven goalscorer and he is one for the future. They need goals now. Last season they scored one a game, this season even less. Incidentally, some of our fans still keep saying we should have paid George Hirst £10,000 a week because of his potential. Brewster is nearly 2 years younger and is worth 23million. That.s potential.
Doctor Duran
could go either way.. the last wonderkid Ben Woodburn didn't fair to well.
e6owl
Might work out well for them, of course, but this is a genuinely baffling signing. Chansiri has wasted his fair share of money but 23m on a kid who was decent but hardly set the league alight in a mediocre swansea team that just about scraped the playoffs is something else. Adem Poric
Brewster is not Ben Woodburn. He's a finisher and will score goals at any level given the service. The problem they have is that Brewster is not going to create 15+ goals for himself. Are United creating big chances for their forwards? Do they have anyone who is going to create 10-15 chances? Last season they had Lundstrum at 8 big chances and Stevens at 9. That was when they were everyone's second favourite team, lauded by the pundits, fans, general public and all football fans the world over.
Nero
As they humbly take their spending to £114million in 18 months, and now pay wages of 50k per week...... Oh and if he does well you can buy him back. Desperate times and the last roll of the Wilder era?

SiJ
He's clearly talented and an upgrade on what they've got at the club. Does this mean a move to a more expensive style of play or will they still be looking to grind out narrow victories?
WalthamOwl
Potentially an impressive signing for them. Shame.

They've stumped up 20 odd million, a buy back clause and a 15 percent sell on fee to get him. Still - a very humble bit of business.
CalmJimmers
No idea if he'll be any good or not, did well at Swansea last year in the Championship. Ollie McBurnie did well in the Championship too like. As did their other strikers.

They've also changed their style a fair bit from the Championship. They are much more defensive focused team than they were previously, looking to grind teams down and keep it tight at the back. Our fans wet the bed after we've conceded for the first time in 4 games. Wilder has done really well, but Christ, £114m!!
Ellis Rimmer
He will be going into my fantasy football side at 4.5M, this will dramatically increase the chance of him failing at Utd. Win/Win situation. 3

It seems like the rest of the Liverpool youngsters are getting games, but he hasn't, that includes ones who are 16/17.... makes you wonder why
s6 owl
Brewster scored past us from 6 yards out last season so he's already a 100% bladesman legend.
Ellis Rimmer
I can't help but think when a top club let go of a young homegrown player it's because they don't think he will be any good at all. A homegrown player is so valuable bear in mind.
