There’s a fantastic post on bladesmad about the goal at villa park last season that wasn’t given.

Apparently, had there not been a massive conspiracy that allowed the goal to stand, villa would have been relegated. Then they wouldn’t have signed Watkins and someone one else, who would instead have signed for them blades, along with a couple of other players who would have been desperate to leave villa and sign for dem blades.

which would of course mean they wouldn’t be in the relegation places, and would be having another great season.

Talk about clutching at straws. Last time it was a WHU players fault, this time it’s goal line technology. Get ready for fairness in football 2

It's them Claret & Blue shirts what done it!

Get ready for Burnley to be blamed next season for some reason or other!

Humble salaries of 40-55k a week for humble players

Why are they getting hung up on paying £40k - £55k a week for Prem players? Id guess it's the going rate for an average Premier League player.

Actually, maybe that's why they're so upset.

Because Wilder moaned on and on and on about players on 40k a week. They are obsessed with players on 40k or more.

Or in their case it's the going rate for a well below average Premier League player!

His Wilderness will spontaneously combust if they have to still pay those contracts in the Championship!

Because they’re trying to make the point that Wilder hasn’t got any real wages firepower

And the bog roll prince just blew that out of the water by basically confirming they’ve moved all their humble players to over 40k

Trying to justify their current plight.... how can we expect players on £15/20k p.w. to compete with premier League players on £200k p.w.....

Unfortunately they seem to have forgotten that they did last year and that there is correlation between transfer fees and salary paid

From what I can see this is all based on what the solicitor submitted to the court for McBurnie's drink driving case which said that he was on £20k..... they are basing everything on this. If he earns that as their 'top' striker the rest must be on less

That however is probably his basic and could easily have doubled when they stayed up as he is now an established premier League player ( I know)... We won't factor in any bonus payments for goals scored this season

If they’ve got 15 players all earning 40k a week, that’s at least £30m a year in wages on top of the £120m they’ve spent on making their squad worse... you can add on a bit more for agent fees, signing on bonuses, etc as well as wages for the other players and coaching staff

Hope they put some major relegation wage reduction clauses in those contracts.
