Inspector Lestrade
Worked for me https://www.ccmb.co.uk/showthread.php?445723-Sheffield-Wednesday-Invasion-Of-Cardiff-May-1984-Remember-that-!&s=e65b42af3380d2fde26b1fa5201000ce
Owls s18
As the link suggests we were on the pitch a waiting the Chelsea result to find out if we had won the league title! By the way it’s the only time I’d seen barbed wire at a football ground..... not that it did any good as the wires below were ripped out !

"Wednesday were just happy to Party" After 14 years away no wonder. One can only imagine the Party when we next gain Promotion to the top flight!!
Bpmber
Was this the game where some fans paraded a pigs head on a silver platter with a red and white scarf wrapped around it ?
The Night-Owl
Reminds me of the Play Off final in Cardiff, think that still remains the highest amount of fans other than international fans at a match there? That was a memorable day for me as I live in South Wales and made a whole day of it. Like the Wembley Play Off final it was good natured and a brilliant atmosphere. Yup, and the Cardiff fans throwing bricks into our uncovered end, we had hitched down on the Friday night, and got a lift back on a coach on the Saturday late on, wouldn't have wanted to spend the rest of Saturday night in |Cardiff

Harrysgame
My favourite season 83 84. Yes, was a good weekend that, 15 at the time. Went down Friday camped near Ross and ended up in Cardiff at 7am. Plenty of Wednesday and s warm sunny day. Don't remember all the locals being friendly, plenty not happy we were on the pitch. As others have said, we were on the pitch waiting for the Chelsea result think they were at Shrewsbury? Rumour was they had lost but sadly they hadn't. TBH didn't matter I was going to see us in Div 1 for the first time. Happy days.
vulva
We were in the car park as the Chelsea result came through. All the news was they’d lost. I think they actually won 5-0 so it was close.

It’s not many years since, broken glass was set in concrete, on top of walls surrounding football grounds. Barnsley still had some last time I was there. nevthelodgemoorowl
I didn't go, so disappointed that we had blown the championship in the penultimate two games against Shrewsbury and Man City.

marconi
The fancy dress of the policeman was funny. Went on pitch, rumour that Chelsea had lost at Grimsby was circulating, but turned out to be false. Went on the train, and set off back to the station. Saw a Wednesdayite with blood on hIs face, he told us not to go up there as they were throwing bricks. Spent the next ten minutes trying to cadge a lift on any coach to Newport to no avail. Then a passing taxi came to our rescue. Drove us back to the station, past a large mob of home supporters. Great day out though.
