Great performance this from Brighton. Good afternoon of football so far. Another strange var with the red card though. Ref has a clear view gives a yellow then changes his mind?

Can see why he ended up giving a red, you shouldn't really trying to back flick a ball at head height unless you are sure you will pull it off. He got the Newcastle player in the face and not the ball, difficult to argue it isn't out of control & endangering an opponent.

They've absolutely spanked the barcodes, should be 5 or 6 by now.

Going to be a long relegation fight for the most overhyped club in football history (and my daughters partner)lol

Shocking performance but they were easily better than West Ham last week.

Can't see them getting relegated but can't see them above 12th either. Not what they expect up there.

Oh I agree.  It was dangerous. But the ref was five yards away and had a clear view and thought it was a yellow. Don’t know what he saw different on the tv? I would love to hear his explanation.

All these incidents look worse in slow motion, it’s ridiculous.

It showed you the ref looking at the screen for the Palace penalty.

He looked at 5 replays of the attacker flicking the ball up onto the defenders arm. Just those two players in a close up slow motion replay. Made it look like the defender was going for a slip catch.

One wider angle from completely wrong side.

Didn’t look for any replay which showed his hand had gone into exactly that position when he had been running the previous 10 strides.

Rubbish from the ref.

Chelsea really need to replace that goalkeeper. Never liked him since he refused to be substituted

Don’t think Lampard likes him either for that - and he wasn’t the manager then.

Probably thinks he’ll try it with him too.... that and conceding goals from outside the box too often - as G Nev said.
