Kachunga and Windass will run about and unrest the Cardiff defence, but the worry is how many we can keep out at the other end for me Know what you mean. Did Palmer start at Fulham cos I think he will start RWB? Optimistically I am hoping that we have been working with the new coaching team on how to defend with 3 at the back because that was the problem post lockdown. I really don’t mind if we have a back five for a lot of the time, you just can’t afford to be porous at the back in this league.

Yes I’m hoping to see Palmer and Penney start, instead of Odubajo and Harris who were in that Fulham game. But we shall see
0114
I’d like us to go 4231, but that won’t happen. If we are too play a 352 I’d go with round pegs in round holes. Wildsmith/Dawson - don’t care which one. None are really better than the other. Was the best player last weekend and fully deserves to start. Would probably have Wildsmith in goal. Hope this is the only league game we have with the current choice of strikers. Penny is without doubt The most natural player we have as a left wingback. I'm fed up on our insistence these last few years of playing inverted wide men and listening to people complaining we can't put a good cross in.. 1

Thoughts? I'd just have the subtle change of Brown Luongo bannan in middle. Just becouse I'd rather see a left footer on the left of the three and don't want to see bazza getting in the way of our cb's in the middle dropping too deep.. So for that reason, if the team news filters through with no striker, I’m going to drive down to Cardiff, sack Monk on the spot and promote Andy Hughes there and then. Or I’ll just tut and shake my head as usual. What if no striker was Hughes idea.

beloved_aunt
Penney did well last week. Palmer played as a RWB for Scotland in the week and got an assist (though against the Czech reserves). I’d be tempted to go with both of them as the wing backs. I seem like the only one, but I’m still not convinced by Harris as a wing back. His crossing style is based on getting to the byline. At LWB he receives the ball much deeper and has to race to the byline. This takes more time so he often runs out of energy and is surrounded by defenders by the time he gets to the byline. Musn't Grumble
In the absence of any recognised strikers, I'd play "goalie wag" with Dawson and Wildsmith up front.
