Prefer Assombalonga but would be a good addition given our circumstances. If we could get Murphy and Zohore both in that'd give us a great chance of staying up and maybe more if we win the appeal.

Assombalonga isn’t a target man though, and we know that Monk prefers a big man in that role

Wonder what Monk will say in his press conference this morning about signings, anyone close etc.

"Nothing imminent. Everyone is working very hard behind the scenes, all those guys. They're doing what we can in a new market, tough for everybody."

Summat like that.

You forgot “it’s a process, you have to remember it’s not just us trying to sign players as other teams have their plans too. So we have to accept that”.

And this one of many reasons why the characterless Ginger Jos will not succeed here with his boring responses

"We believe we should be covered for the foreseeable with Reach willing to take on that role more"

I know he isn’t flavour of the month on here, but Monk, Beattie and the rest of his team are far more professional that Warcock. Plus, it’s pretty much certain Warcock will not last more than 12 months at best before his 17th retirement. Monk has to deliver the goods, assuming he does, Ken is joining a club moving in the right direction, instead of seeking short term fixes. They will also be able to point to how they have developed the CFs who have played under them....
