You're allowed to make losses of £39m over a rolling three year spell (might have changed recently?)

I think we're over £39m over the last three years, so we need to cut our expenses further still, not add to them.

We are a complete mess.

That is what you get when you mount promotion push by sending heavily on players without resale value.

If we did our recruitment right we would have moved few players on (like we did with Joa) and be ok.

But what to expect when recruitment is done by guy who think that ball bounces because there is a frog in it and his advisors who look after their personal interest and don't care one bit about our club.

Indeed but other team do it, take the pain for a season or two, then go again we have been taking the pain for 4 seasons and counting with little or no end in sight.

There needs to be fundamental changes but the team also needs to be competitive and tying an arm and a leg behind the managers back before the first game and telling him to go into the season with 1 striker who managed to scored in just 1 games last season is not the way to do it.

Its not like we have the tightest defence in the leak we were leaking 2 goals a game post Xmas.

It is not going to be a long and hard season, with what we currently have it is going to be a very short season we could effectively be relegated by Xmas. If that -12 from 4th bottom grows to 15-18 points there is little or no chance we will make it up.

Good point and one which has been puzzling me. . We sell the ground, report it in the wrong season. Result - a deduction of 12 points. What happens to the money? Is it deemed to have been spent pr no? I would have thought that, in the view of the panel, the money was deemed NOT to have been legally included in the first accounts, thus placing us in contravention of the FFP Rules, hence the penalty IMO this should mean that the money from the sale could legally be applied for the next season's accounts. Otherwise it would be Double Jeapordy, an unacceptable in the eyes of British Law.(in most cases)a d we should look forward to another deduction in future.

As for the buying and selling of players, if we pay £10million for a player, wages aside, surely that player then becomes a £10million pound ASSET thus negating sale as regards accounting/

Still, we all know that EFL and Premiership iignore British Law anyway.

The £10 million will be amortised away over the length of the contract. In effect over 4 years it shows as a £2.5m loss each year. Ist year £2.5m loss, asset value £7.5m. Second year £2.5m loss, asset value £5m , and so on.

46 games a season! He’s only played over 30 games a season twice in the last 14 years so he isn’t getting anywhere near 46 games.
Also his record for assists is pretty poor, mainly because he would always rather shoot than play anybody else in.

He better than I though then to score more goals and assist that both Harris and Reach why were we not playing him for every game.lol

Don't worry quality replacements will be here shortly.  We voted for a maintained pricing structure in order for the club to maintain it's spending levels, as Mr Chansiri is not a Tory MP we can be assured he's no Walter Mitty or bare faced bullshitter.

A) Would you prefer the prices at Sheffield Wednesday across the board, for example Season Tickets, matchday tickets, official merchandise, corporate hospitality, were reduced to previous eras? The consequence of this would be the sale of key senior players, regular promotion to the first team of academy youngsters and a reduced level of investment.

Answer: Yes 29.94% No 70.06%

B) Alternatively, would you prefer the club to build on the current level of investment, maintain the pricing structure, and extend our ongoing strategy geared towards promotion to the Premier League.

Answer: Yes: 70.14%  No: 29.86%

Depends on what he was on and if there was a signing fee. Believed to be around £30k a week.

July 16-July 20 @£30k per week is £6million.

Some reported him at £35k a week would be £7million.

Either way it’s less than £8m but yes the point is that it’s still a ridiculous amount especially given the amount of time he spent injured.

Wilder reckoned he was on 40 GRAND A WEEK... which would be 8 million

This has to be addressed once fans are allowed back in.

As we know it wont.

I think it’s the opposite of that now and DC doesn’t want to spend. Given the stadium sale has effectively been moved from 2017-18 to 2018-19, we should now be showing a profit for 2018-19 in the accounts. I’m not sure how much we lost in 2019-20, but it should be way lower than prior seasons. We received a reported £9m for Joao and Bruce, and we cut 100k+ off the wage bill when we released Hooper, Boyd, Jones, Abdi, Matias and Pudil.

So 2019-20 should be a vastly reduced loss and 2018-19 was a profit. Should leave loads of wriggle room to still lose £39m over 3 years if we spend in 2020-21.

Just don’t think Chansiri wants to though

Learnt his bloody lesson, maybe.

FF played upfront. Harris and reach are wingers, of course he should score more than them.

Brentford paid £ 1.8 million for Ollie Watkins in July 2017 - look what they’re reportedly going to get from Villa for him now

OK, this is an exceptional case, but get recruitment right - pick up a few promising youngsters cheaply, move them on at the right time, and the issue of wages becomes largely irrelevant.
