Garry Monk and Adam Reach both agree he's a striker now

It really really worries me.

If our manager watched that game on Saturday and has concluded that Reach can play striker we are utterly doomed with this fool at the helm.

even if he believes it, you wouldn't say it after that, as surely he would have seen how ineffective he was

Let’s face it, Reach probably agreed because he can see he’s unlikely to get into the team anywhere else as it stands right now. This does seem to confirm that we’re nowhere near having a traditional centre forward type signed up any time soon.

Trying very very hard to be positive about the situation though you don’t necessarily have to be built like a brick sh1thouse to play as striker. Just wondering how he compares in stature to Beattie, and if that’s where the idea really came from.

Why not use a system that suits our players then????

Because we have a Frankenstein's monster of a squad, put together with no forethought or planning as to what formation, tactics or style of play we were going to use from one transfer window to the next.

What gets the best out of Iorfa doesn't get the best out of Palmer. What gets the best out of Reach doesn't get the best out of Bannan etc...

There's no system which suits all our players, I'm afraid.

Monk simply has to try to find a system that gets the best out of the players he believes can make a difference on a consistent basis and try to get what he can out of those players who it doesn't entirely suit until the club are able to move them on.

The joke of Monk just keep coming we have a championship quality keeper we don't play he sits at home watching the games so we go with two keepers who are not good enough yet.

We need a central midfield ball winner but let the one we have leave because Monk does not like him (he is shortly to be a Watford player),

We lack goals up front but let all of our strikers leave the club to save money, with what is now appearing little or no plan to replace them, but the one striker we have cannot get a game instead we play yet more players out of position.

We then have one of the bright points in the pre Monk era in Reach a player who regularly played in midfield and in 42 games (18/19 season) scored 8 goals and assisted 7 times none of these came playing as a striker, but he now cannot play on the wing because of a player who has managed just 1 assist in his last 23 games yet other players in the team are dropped after a game or two if they don't perform.

Look Monk has learn nothing, we will keep stumbling along until the chairman realises that we are probably going to get relegated, at that point he will probably get rid of monk and bring in a competent manager who can get the best out of what we have but by that point it could be too late for this season.

More evidence of Monk shoehorning players into positions they aren't suited for to fit his desired formation, rather than play with a formation that suits what he has available.

You can't even argue that it's the players he hasn't brought in that are the problem anymore; Signs central midfielder Izzy Brown and where doe he make his debut? As a striker. The mind boggles.

Square pegs, round holes, more of the same calamitous form beckons under him I'm afraid.

If he really does think that, then we are really in the shat much more than we already know this season, I’d have given nuhiu another season for this one just to bring him off the bench every game for the last 20/25 mins or so, never as a starter, but if this is true we need to go all out to bring him back if this is our only option, rather start with nuhiu up too than reach any time, baffling decision if true.

Several years of financial incompetence is now coming home to roost.

We can't just go out and spend £15m on a few strikers because we want to.  This is the place we are in now, because of mistake after mistake yesterday.

we dont have to spend, there are plenty of frees available

they may not be perfect, but they should be better than what we have, IE. nowt

Reach has the attributes to be a good striker. He's quick and has a good shot, on the shoulder of the defender looking to get in behind he could be dangerous.

Playing balls in to feet or giving him long balls he's gonna be pretty much useless. If you're gonna use him there, at least play to his strengths. If not, play him out wide, or don't play him at all.

He's making a bloody mess out of doing so. We have barely any players suited to the system he believes is best. There may be no system which suits all our players but if it suits 8 out of the 11 surely that's better than a system that suits half that number???

Can someone show me where Monk says Reach is a striker? Reach cant tackle or head a ball, in fact a times he struggles to look like a footballer.

To me he resembles a poor mans Phil Henson.

Not sure what his best position, perhaps we should ask his other half.
