matthefish2002
Getting in a decent main striker is more then likely going to make or break our season.

Mick70
If anyone thinks we won’t have been searching far and wide for that elusive striker needs to think again? Every club is looking for the same thing? Our problem is we have a budget then a -12 deduction? I’m sure we will have asked just like everyone else. A lot will be out of by deduction no doubt at all! Then it comes down to finance, I’m sure there will be enough to get somebody decent the trouble will be convincing them and the club to loan if it is a loan? I even think there might be a bit to spend but all other clubs know our predicament even clubs abroad. No doubt at all this is the one signing that needs to help all the rest together, someone who can lead the line hold the ball up be a pain int arse to play against and have a bit of pace ? There you go no problem finding him

Convincing them to sign after it’s been announced that the club start the season with a 12 point deduction is a completely different kettle of fish.

DJMortimer
Club A wants to sign a striker on loan from one of clubs B, C, D, E or F. The bloke from club B gets a better deal from elsewhere. Him at club C wants too much money and keeps adding conditions so after being dragged along for ages club A withdraw interest. And the one from club D doesn't like club A's prospects this season and stays where he is. Club E says to wait until nearer the start of the season for a decision as to whether the target player will be made available or not. So club A moves on to the next target at club F but they have a couple of long term injuries and want to bring in a replacement from club G before they have the numbers they need to release him. Club F are happy for this player to leave, but he's also in negotiation with clubs H and J to get the best deal for himself and is happy to draw it out until closer to deadline day if necessary to see how desperate some of those after him might get. It is a revelation to some who would have other fans believe that Kachunga and Windass were enough and we weren't also trying to sign an actual striker. It's disappointing that we haven't been able to secure someone as this was clearly a priority from long before the end of last season. Of course there is competition and of course the market price gets driven up but we more than any club in the league need to hit the ground running due to the 12 points start we have given everyone else. If we don't get off to a good start, a move to us becomes even less attractive to potential signings as the deadline gets closer.
Guest wilyfox
I don't understand why people are struggling to grasp the concept that Windass & Kachunga are strikers. They even say themselves that is their preferred position. Why is that unacceptable, simply because you don't want them to be?
