Chip Butty song - Proof it's a Rotherham song

Can we please make sure all our porky friends are made aware of this. It’s going to wind them up so much. Almost wish I was back in sheffield

I'm trying my best to spread the word.

My fav bit of that article was:

"A few phone calls later and it was done - Terry agreed to meet me and tell me everything."

Makes it sound like he was arranging a meet up with a former mob informer or something.

2nd - A tale of the 2nd season, of everyone's 2nd team. 2nd hand nickname, 2nd hand ground, 2nd hand theme song. From the 2nd team of Sheffield.

A night out in Masborough 🤣

Hey, it was a brilliant night out in Masbrough. About 25 pubs back in the day. There were still 11 open when we left Millmoor.

Although by the time I was singing this in the 90s we had changed the lyrics to a 'Night out in Rotherham' cos at the time that was also a decent night out. Not now tho obviously.

We need to rewrite the lyrics to "Second-Hand Rose" for them! lol

They've got a second hand ground

Songs with a second hand sound

That's why they're known as

The second hand Blades!

Everything is borrowed it's no mystery

Yet still it seems to end up as "their history"

The Blades nickname is the same

It's just a second hand name

The piggies from S2, the piggies from S2!

The lyrics were scrawled on a toilet wall - stay classy, Rotherham!

It doesn't really matter who started it tbh, it's still associated with the pigs and nobody else. It suits them as well, it just makes them sound like tramps singing about Woodbines and snuff - surely they were associated with old men even in the 80s? Probably still the height of trendy sophistication in Rotherham but not in Sheffield.

Obviously, it's a cr4p song!
