Garry Monk’s ambitious vision for Wednesday

We don’t even know who is responsible for getting the deals done.

DC is in Thailand presumably, so are we reliant on Paxo or is somebody else responsible for working with agents and getting deals over the line.

Why does DC being in Thailand have anything to do with it...since lockdown we've had family quizzes on Zoom with family in Doha, Jacksonville, Amsterdam, Cologne and Wetherby, Ascot and here in Sheffield. The whole world has been doing business from home. Monk himself said he speaks to the chairman daily.

1. Get young hungry players who just want to play attacking football, with an experienced head at the back or heart of midfield.
2. Build a fortress Hillsborough mood again, we need to be difficult to beat at home, use youthful energy at the end of games to knick points.
It doesn't need to look pretty for the rest of 2020 because it wont't be.
3. Develop squad to do well under pressure (being in the relegation zone for the rest of 2020 should help that)
4. January - depending on situation, buy for survival, or ideally avoid big additions if we are on track to survive (save money, use loans if needed)
5. Dream scenario - Survive 2020/21 season with a squad of young fit players build around an attacking style and confidence at home

6. If we've saved money from few singings in January, summer aim is to get a couple of key additions who suit our style, and can turn us into a real threat for next season.
7. Aim for mid/top half 2021/22 season, crop out any players not up to par and replace with more youth to grow for 2022/23 season.

If fans could see this in action, i think there would be so much more patience given to Monk, if that was the plan, it allows for a relegation scrap year and a slow 2021 but theres a future in it.

Realistically I can't see any of the above happening if we get number 1 wrong.

It literally could be anything from how GM sees us playing to a 3 year strategy, to what he wants overhauled in the canteen.

I don't get this obsession with feeling entitled to know. Isn't it between player and manager. Fans have to trust. We always have.

Did Big Ron or Trevor Francis speak to the fans about their vision for the club?

‘Fans have to trust, we always have’

Short term vision - to ensure that we don’t get relegated down to League One next season

Long term vision - this can be revisited next season, depending on whether we achieve our short term vision ( see above ) or not !

We'll put it this way. We don't have a say at the club as we are not shareholders.

We have exactly the same relationship with the Board as we do as individuals and collectively with the like of Sainsbury's or Asda or Amazon.

And that's the truth of the matter.

We are paying customers - like it or not.

I feel he’s looking to build a Squad of young, athletic, powerful players to fit 352

A team that presses hard in the opponents half . His problem so far in my eyes is that he couldn’t get the players he inherited to follow his instructions. Now much of the deadwood has gone he can enforce some discipline, not least in defence

There's that word again.

How much 'deadwood' have we got rid of?

Cosmopolitan!

Can't you get your family to scout some bargain players for us?

The plan seems to be buying players from under 23 squads who are unfancied for the prem but will hopefully be good enough in the champ

If we can do what Huddersfield did and get a few prem loans on top I can see us being safe by Christmas but keep it to a min maybe 6 months with options to extend, can;t see us being madly competitive due to the situation but we have the money to get players of Murphy's calibre for sure, but this season should be about developing a younger squad and gelling them together though a challenging season
