Hang on we're discussing a club statement about the appeal and people are asking who has drafted it ? In this same thread people have been calling the chairman incompetent throughout the process and for appealing. Who do they think has been handling it his office cleaner ?

in terms of the drafting, I agree it was clearly prepared by a legal person. It would have been pre-prepared based on the potential outcome. They may have had other statements ready to go. In the end, we are appealing charge 1, which when you look at it, is a long-shot based on the facts. Unless we can 'prove' we had enough documents to be able to register the 'sale' in 2017/18, and the evidence in the reports suggest not, what are we appealing for, unless we think there's enough in the report to suggest the EFL are partly complicite, which they probably are, and therefore, we may get a points deduction reduction.

My point was since Feb 2019, with have had no Board; executive or leadership team. DC is predominantly based abroad and doesn't appear to have day-to-day handle on matters - why should he? But he's engineered the situation, and these events don't paint him, as sole Director and owner in a good light - i'm sure you must agree with that.

Chansiri has the money to get us out of this division, but can't spend it.

It's no different from the money gifted to the parachute clubs, yet they can spend.

Chansiri hates this, and so do I.

The EFL cannot wait to apply a punishment for maximum effect, something else which doubtless irks.

Unless clubs stick the boot into the EFL, repeatedly, then this unjust system will continue.

You forgot to call him 'Channers'

Just a wild guess but I'd expect it to be drafted by our QC who has obviously the best viewpoint  given that he presented the case to the tribunal in the first place...why do people expect DC to draft it...oh yeah I get it so they can have another pop...oops

No idea pal, could be right

Aint lining up for a pop at DC , just saying that statement has absolutely no input from him

I am sure it took chansiri some time to work out how to get 40m out of his savings to SWFC before he could officially buy the stadium .

I am sure it took chansiri some time to work out how to get 40m out of his savings to SWFC before he could officially buy the stadium .. that would have took time ... at the end of the day he was on the understanding this would be included in the 2017/18 accounts based on the EFL's response .... yes it's not good it took longer but I bet now he wishes he had just took the 12 points in 2018/19 and be £45m better off !

However, this does not account for the EFL taking different approaches with SWFC and DERBY and not applying the same rules also to club promoted to the PL and then simply giving them large fines from their parachute payments on relegation....

Clearly the EFL needs to be reviewed by the FA as they are a shambles - it does look like to me that there is a clear agenda from the EFL against certain clubs / owners (because they don't appear to follow their own rules) ..and many other owners who are just out there to vote to penalise clubs for their own gain as they know they cannot compete at this level !

Its my understanding the money didnt have to change hands at the time. I'm happy to be corrected.

Don't be silly. We are trying to deflect the blame wholly onto the EFL when it was entirely in our own hands to have dealt with the sale properly and avoided both the charge and the points deduction. All an appeal will do is to have it hammered into us just how inept Chansiri has been.

We should have the grace to accept the punishment and move on.

No way. The rules of the EFL are not fit for purpose , I totally disagree I think one of the reasons for the appeal is to show that the EFL as it stands are totally inept at running the leagues. We have a right to appeal and we are exercising that right , if the appeal brings reform to the EFL regardless of whether we get points back or not then I would say that is a victory for all the other clubs. The EFL need reforming big time , so bring on the appeal.

Can he sell the ground to himself then buy it back?  Asking for a friend.

The efl will know, probably say yes to start with, then change their mind and blame the estate agent for being crap at English.

They may even try to sue...

It has t changed hands at all has it? It’s been paid in instalments isn’t it? And the club owes him a lot more anyway.

And he’d probably find out he’s sold it to D Taxis by mistake and now no-one is answering the phone so he can get it sorted.

I think our office cleaner would find that very derogatory

Especially as I tend to do ours on a Friday when I have had enough of the week.

But I know one thing, I would have prepared a better heads of term and something resembling a binding unconditional contract than what we actually did

Hope your missus dunt know your doing the cleaner, (if it's only Fridays, whats she doing rest of week), asking for a friend.

Quite honestly, for the club to come out with such a strongly worded statement as a follow up and to confirm it is to appeal is simply an embarrassment.

What’s an embarrassment is the amount of people that still can’t see the EFL and football hierarchy as a whole for the corrupt, incompetent, money blinded leeches each and every one of them really are

And given we are part of the EFL that presumably includes Wednesday or is Chansiri - who asks us to pay some eye watering prices - a noble exemption from criticism?
