Didn't we say the same about Morgan Fox? Turned out alright in the end. Most of us were sorry to see him go.

JvA showed glimpses, previously, of what he might be capable of. Lets at least give him a chance and see how he performs under a new regime.

I know it can happen, and I would obviously be delighted if he ended up a star, but he has such fundamental faults, that I would genuinely be disappointed with my 10 year old lad having, that I just can’t see it.

This time next year Premier clubs will be chasing him.

But will we be millionaires as a result?

Clean slate. Hope he come back into the new and proves everyone wrong.

He's only played 15 games in England. Too early to write him off just yet IMO

Van Aken is back, more experience and ready for a fresh start at a new look Sheffield Wednesday

I know he's from the Netherlands, but when is he allowed out of quarantine, I think I can see Dustin Hoffman in the background?

Glad he’s back, really missed him. Made an indelible impression on my memory.

Writing him off completely is probably just as stupid as those that went overboard praising him as the next big thing after his debut. The reality is always in the middle. Could still go either way for him imo.

I always associate JVA with allowing Leon bleedin Clarke to have the freedom of Hillsborough in that utter Pigs game debacle.

Really hope he has improved because in the games he did play for us he looked all over the place. Missed quite a bit of his loan spell with injury as well I believe.

Strange that at 26 years of age none of his previous coaches have shared your 'vision'.

I think he will win the haters over! Fantastic left foot and can spot a pass. If if if we can get Murphy back he'll be running onto crossfield passes from Van Aken all day long.

Think that game was a perfect storm of shyteness, that unfortunately happened very early in his Wednesday career.

Really hope he can out that behind him and kick on with a fresh start

He's got a clean slate under a new coaching team and a chance to impress in training.

Whether he can grasp this opportunity is down to him...

Can the fans grasp the opportunity as well
