We need to decide which system we are going to be playing.

Kachunga is a wide player in a 433/451 system.

Can’t see a role for him in a 352

My thoughts too, but also worth considering that 343 the formation of choice for a few clubs these days.

Agreed. We badly need full backs if we're going to play 4 at the back.

We need to have a few formations/systems.

It's better to have all bases covered so we can move it around.

Why not? Just curious as to why you and others have this reservation.

Dont see why he couldn't fit in on the right of a 5.

If he's what the new staff see as fitting into their plans, then it's a reasonable move.

I would like to see Murphy back but I think Newcastle will sell him and he'll cost too much a bit like Hector last summer. Disappointing considering how money has been thrown away on lesser players than these. Nevertheless, DC is clearly  backing the manager and is still investing heavily in spite of the criticism he gets at times.

Att’s been the main source for rumours and they’ve all been right so far...

Hughes has worked with him at Huddersfield. Scored 12 from RW, on a free I think it’s a good signing.

Good point on the Hughes link, not a player I would have been looking at but Hughes worked well with him previously so might be a factor.

Wouldn't have said Murphy or kadeem Harris were either?

I don't think they would either!

They did a job for the team in that position, Murphy especially but defending isn't their game and I would expect Murphy to be looking for a move where he will not have the defensive responsibility of wing-back next season.

He was good the season Hudds went up but I still felt Huddersfield lacked a proper focal point and we’re a good striker away from a good side even then. Hasn’t done much since. We’d be hoping to do a bit of a Wilder rejuvenation like with Clarke and Mcgoldrick. Clearly some ability there but hasn’t gone his way in recent years.

I think Dunkley should be a good one but perhaps unsurprisingly we are going to be lacking in guaranteed quality and taking plenty of gambles. We need a good few strikers though so some will fall in this bracket. 28 years old though so not much resale value

Could see us playing a 3-4-3 with someone like Odubajo and Reach at the wide men in the 4, Bannan and Luongo in the centre. A big man uptop with players like Kachunga and Windass either side.

We would continue to leak goals like a sieve.

Maybe we will ditch that. It could’ve been temporary with the players available
