Beattie's Influence On Strikers

Remembering the player Beattie was and the affect he had on Wood & Jutkiewicz, I'd like us to bring in Lyndon Dykes and let JB go to work on him.

He might help, he might not - I'm sure there are dozens of strikers who have worked with him, who haven't ended up wit the Golden Boot as well.

Well yes, but the quotes above show the influence he can have on strikers in this division, which has to be a positive, no?

I'm sure I have seen an interview with JB on one of the sky footy things where he talks about coaching strikers and what he tries to instill in them.   It was about reacting quicker and it being so natural you dont think.  it was also about positioning and only taking minimal touches.   It must have been good it stuck in my one brain cell.

Being top of your game doesn't always mean you'll be a top coach / mentor

Otherwise all the top class players would easily transition into that area after retirement.

This is my opinion, but if you look it seems like the best managers don't come from the pool of the best players

Think beatie will be a brilliant addition
