Maybe he doesn't really like playing football - it's far from unheard of

Maybe what keeps him playing is money he cannot refuse - maybe he thinks that is his worth - which he's fully entitled to believe

Some players play at whatever level they can - happy to drop down the leagues and take a relative pittance just cos they love playing

Looks like Bale plays for money - that's entirely up to him

I agree with that and think its fair. His antics are embarrassing for someone of his age though and a shame on his team. Very unlikable and cocky individual that will never have the respect and standing of many in the game. Not that he'd care. Oh and he plays for a w4nk national team.

Except he is now deciding not to play as well.

When that kind of attitude doesn't endear you to the fans and when you don't perform as well as your price tag and salary suggests you shoulf, don't be surprised when you come in for stick for that.

Also, don't sit on the bench acting like a clown showing that you couldn't care less. He didn't give the impression that he didn't like football when he signed for Real or when he plays for Wales.

If his attitude is that football is just a job - and there is nothing wrong with that

Then why would he change jobs for inferior wages

He is not doing his job very well currently and apparently refused to do his job at all a couple of weeks ago. Not going to feel sorry for him being widely criticised on that basis.

Player power rules so he can just sit on the bench and act like a child knowing that his money will come in regardless, in any other job he would be shown the door.

Not in any other job that was a fixed term contract he wouldn't...

But hey!

If you want to continue wilfully ignoring the actuality of the situation and would rather superimpose some utopian football fan fantasy onto it then fill yer boots

If it’s true that part of Zidane’s condition for rejoining Real was that Bale was to be sold then I don’t blame him at all.

For whatever reason the two clash and really Zidane has shown little respect to Bale, who really was a key component in the Real side. Bale was happy to move to China and then Real pulled the plug last minute.

So really he’s being fizzed around by the club to suit the Zidane agenda.

The following is quite a good article about Bale at Madrid.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53403060

Quote

One of the main reasons Zidane left Real Madrid for the first time after the 2018 Champions league final was because of Bale. Put simply, the club - and specifically Perez - wanted to keep Bale and effectively turn him into the new Ronaldo, while Zidane most certainly didn't.

So Zidane, unable to get any of his points across to the president, left.

And when he returned in March 2019 one of the main conditions for his return was the departure of Bale.

I doubt anyone else would not behave how Bale has done at Madrid.

So its fine that he now decides when or when not to play and acts like a 5 year old when on the bench?

If you want to have a debate and are replying to my post, best to use the quote mechanism.
