Given the state of the game and the EFL's attitude, by 2022 all teams will have been relegated to the Conference!
westy365owl
Have the club been given the reasons for punishment yet as not sure anyone can appeal till that happens and by then it will probably be start of next season

SwellOwl
What a complete mess, 2 clubs pre season now turned upside down playing in different leagues. It is hard to describe EFL anything else but a mess. Why is now a delay in releasing the findings of our case to appeal? Maybe get your house in order first.. alanharper
There's been no indication that the EFL aren't satisfied with our verdict and may appeal. It's taken 7 weeks for their appeal on Macclesfield to be heard, so if there was a similar or even a shorter timescale, the new season will have already started by the time they get round to it. Plus they know that Chansiri would fight it if they did so, unlike poor Macclesfield who can't afford to.
Popular Post cowl
Macclesfield could well fold. Superb work from the EFL on this - they must be so proud of themselves. In the meantime, they look idly on without doing a single thing about the biggest source of inequality throughout the football league which are the parachute payments. The consequences of them spiral all the way down to the conference. They behave as though these payments don't even exist, or at least, aren't anything to do with them. And then they have the gall to talk about the ‘integrity of the competition’. I've really grown to despise them over these last 5 years or so. 23 7
Bluesteel
The EFL appeal everything to protect themselves. Our appeal process hasn’t started but I guess if they did appeal it they would be looking for a larger deduction but apparently -12 was the worst case for the charges against the club
Popular Post Lee A
Remember when football was enjoyable and actually worth following? When it was decided on the pitch rather than a series of board/courtrooms. The game is an absolute mess and unfortunately, you can only see it getting worse as more clubs struggle and inevitably a few more disappear altogether. 14
Popular Post scram
Football is so broken that we have been deducted 12 points (and a ruined season because of it) due to the club owner spending money that he has in abundance 19 2

It's easy for the EFL to pick on little teams like Macclesfield and Bury who don't have the money to fight back, but they havnt got the balls to stand up to the premier league and tell them they will not accept failure payments in the championship. 10

Guest
Like I said previously Every club in the football league needs to refuse to play a fixture til the EFL sort there act together I'm certain most fans would agree with this stance . The EFL are a complete farce

We;ve been docked points for breaching the League’s Profitability and Sustainability rules for the three seasons. We have disputed that and are awaiting the written reasons for the decision. Until such times as we have it in black and white, we cannot appeal, if that is indeed what the club will do.
WalthamOwl
Absolutely disgraceful they have relegated them so close to the start of a new season. EFL really are a shambles.

They have 14 days to act once they get them, not sure they will be formally announcing receipt of them, it's been 11 days since the decision was announced.
