Factual reason to fully back Garry Monk to get us safely out of the -12 deduction

We picked up 12 points in the last 15 games of last season.

If we carry on in the same form next season and are on zero points after 15 games, to have a chance of staying up we would need promotion form in the remaining 31 games.

I wonder how long  those in the pro Monk camp would carry on supporting him if we have a bad start to the season.

Say we didn't win a game in the first 6 and are  something like 15 points adrift of the next team.

Then obviously we would all be wanting him out. I think he gets a minimum of about 10 games to judge him then if we are still miles behind let him go.

He is in charge, no one else is or will be. If you cant back your manager then what sort of supporter are you .

New season, lets see where he takes us before we get sharpening the knives.

 one with eyes and opinions

i follow Wednesday blindly, no one else

I’m not sure how he is still here, but as he is we should see how the first 6 games go.

It’s going to be a nervy season all the way through.

Concentrate on getting some players in, if they’re ok, the fans might be slightly more positive.

But what's his win record as SWFC manager though?

Including his record from expensively assembled Swansea, Leeds and Boro teams is no indication that he'll sustain a similar record here.

Win record at Swansea was 38% but he’s fared better in the Championship with Boro and Leeds at 46 and 47%, worse at Brum with 33% but somehow avoided relegation after 9 point deduction.

His win record at Hillsborough since his appointment (think it was Huddersfield game) is 33% including cup games. If that continued we’d certainly be relegated.....unless we managed a mountain of draws of course.

Looking at those stats, both bielsa and wilder had points per game very similar to monks at some point in their careers.

Thats the problem with stats.

Let's see how he does with his pre-season and some of his own players. Then we can fully judge him.

Stop with the cherry picking

Apart from the fact he is the manager of Sheffield Wednesday of course.

and it’s the first pre season he’s had..

..and he’s managed to clear out the dead wood to a degree

and he will hopefully be bringing in players that he can work with

and ( hopefully) his own back room team.

you’re a bit glass half empty aren’t you?

No

Just a realist

He is a very poor manager

Looking at the current trend(Bournmouth,Bristol City) those who wish Monk gone before the season starts, maybe need to think again, unless of course they want Bullen to have a go.(again) Worrying signs too that  the Chinese are playing hard ball with the Premier league,& allegedly withholding payments for TV rights in China.(as well as no lucrative pre season tours to China, for the big boys)

(Politics not football the alleged cause? Chinese Govt?)

With no supporters, than only 25% of capacity,Maybe delayed season start, and Money drying up,the games going to be forced to change.....Watch this space....

Bruce with a budget of 30 Million is still confident at Newcastle he can bring in,or loan decant players.lets hope Monk can do the same.(with 30 bob)

We shouldn’t even be having this conversation about Monk. The fact that it is taking place is simply another failing of our owner.

Yes & you forgot to mention Monk was the third gunman,on the 'grassy knoll'......havnt you twigged yet?? Who have Bristol City, & Bournmouth appointed as replacement Managers? One a side with parachute payments?..The team  were the ones who failed, they let themselves, the supporters, the Manager,& the Chairman down....

It was all there on the pitch, for all to see, & off the pitch with  the same Players being dropped by two different Managers, those who were allegedly conveniently 'injured' or 'out of form'.....list is endless...........Pointless blaming Monk...
