According to Chansiri's interview in The Athletic a few weeks ago (I think I've got the right one), the club works on the principle of having at least 2 options in every position. That makes perfect sense to me as long as you also have a few emergency options (probably from the Academy, especially if the recently proposed squad limits are implemented).

That's good news then we only need 1 left back, 2 right wingers, 3 strikers and we are done.

Alternatively we need a few utility players who can play a few position to save us some cash, we cannot afford 24 players in a first team squad and not break P&S rules unless kids are making up the numbers.

Venancio arrives soon watch this space.😁😁

I just spoke to a Wigan mate and he said Dunkley getting dropped was the catalyist for their good form at the end of the season. Didn't rate him.

But we should give him a chance, Wigan can make any good player look bad after all.

Which player have we made look better?

My worry would be he broke his leg in February, sometimes players dont come back the same.

Abdi’s arms fell off in a slight breeze and Westwood’s shoulder has had to be amputated after he tried swatting a fly. Dangerous times for the overpaid 😂

With the potential of signing Venancio as well we are becoming overloaded in the CB department and wonder if that would lead to us definitely having to play 3 at the back regardless.

With Iorfa, Borner, Dunkley, Lees, Van Aken and Urhoghide all able to play CB we are more than well covered there now and maybe we will try to offload Lees if Venancio does come in? Would save a little in cash.

With pre-season starting it’s good to have our back line In place as they have plenty of time to get to know each other’s games and work on communication and strategies. There’s also plenty of experience in there with Championship experience too.

They will have to pass ball between themselves as nobody up front to give it to

We might as well throw Iorfa and Dunkley up front. Their goal returns are on a par with Rhodes.

Happy with dunkley if it is finalised.

5 centre halves fighting for 3 spots is ideal and gives us some cover. I'm still secretly hoping JVA comes good as we need some genuine competition at LCB.

Hopefully he's been taking ballet lessons as he needs to stay on his toes as he's always cought flat footed, especially on the turn...... Its........ Like.......... Watch.......ing............. Makes you wonder what promises are being told and the wages being offered to players willing to sign for a club starting the new season on -12 points.

I think we just pick up the phone and say 'we're Sheffield Wednesday' enough said.

I'd like to see Iorfa have a go at wingback.

(Reaches for tin hat and sits down for lecture on how football actually works.)

Ps doesn't Uroghide play fullback?

Lees won't be going anywhere after the season he's just had, he's 30 this year and reported to be on relatively high wages.  No one will sign him in this climate.

The Venancio signing won't happen now.  We're in no position financially to go into the new season with 6 senior CBS.

Would love to be proved wrong on both predictions.
