Of course, if Ronaldo or Messi were coming here and Paixao was behind it, I'd have shown them the door straight away....

....

..

lol

It's odd, isn't it?

Some posters on here have built Paixao up into such a bogeyman that they use his suspected involvement in a prospective signing as a reason not to sign said player, regardless of the fact they think he's actually a good signing.

And you know that this is entirely Paixao's fault, then?

The likes of Forestieri, Bannan, João and Iorfa were decent signings, in my opinion. Not sure whether he was also responsible for the likes of Abdi and Rhodes, though.

I know he’s Chansiri main advisor on football and worked for a company that specialised in transfers and ever more specifically Portugal, considering how shambolic our transfer policy has been over the last 5 years so yes I do have concerns that Paxo is still involved in our dealings.

You’ve named 4 transfer out of how many? There’s more bad than good.

Without knowing who else is involved; who suggested which player (beyond the four mentioned); and who decided not to sell anyone and let them all run down their contracts; it's hard to know how much responsibility for our current plight to lay at Paixao's door.

Without knowing the facts, it seems he's just a convenient bogeyman for some on here. I mean, you' think Venancio would be a good signing, right? Why should the fact that Paixao might have suggested him affect that? Surely it would just be further evidence that he suggests some decent players?

Chansiri's the man in charge. As he put it:

Does he have the authority to bring players to the club? No, he recommends them as part of our recruitment team. Coaches like to talk to Amadeu for his opinions and to draw on his experience, he is a consultant and part of the team at our club.

Does he make any decisions at the club? No. He is a cog in a very large wheel. Does he have the final say on anything? Of course not.

Exactly what we need, especially with 3 at the back he's comfortable on the ball.

With Iorfa - Venancio - Borner we could actually play the ball out the back, we need to do that more, I think it's especially important at 3 in the back formations, you have one more player back there so you should be able to pass your way around the press fairly often if you have centrebacks comfortable on the ball

I never said our plight was down to Paxo or the running down of contacts. That’s clearly Chansiri.

He’s the chairman’s right hand man, the man he brought in because he has no knowledge of football.

He has had a major say in our dire recruitment and that’s my concern. I was hoping recruitment had now been left to Downes, Hughes and Monk.

I mean there are leaked emails out there from him suggesting which manager Chansiri selects. So regardless of what Chansiri says he doesn’t get a pretty big day.

There’s enough information on him and his companies to know he is bad news, if you don’t think so that’s fine. But I do think so.

Fair enough.

If it makes you feel any better, I reckon Neil Thompson suggested Venancio anyway.

I have no problem with him identifying players as stated before he was heavily involved in some of our best signings recently mainly Forestieri.

The issue people have is if he is the one signing them with no say for the manager. At the moment I don’t mind that as I wouldn’t trust monk to sign an autograph but when he goes the manager should be the one to sign the players
