Guest mkowl
Sad to hear. In my formative years of watching Wednesday my Dad took me on the Lepp End. Would go stand down the front and inch nearer to the goal. I remember he seemed to turn up at 10 past 3. To the rendition of Sammy, I am sure he stood on a barrier to acknowledge the accolade. I still reckon he swiped me Christmas bobble hat. I am sure those older will have some great tales RIP

GLOwl
Remember him being hoisted on various people's shoulders on the lower lep while this song was being sung. RIP Sammy.
Frazzlebeak
Memories of holding him aloft in the Lepp with the Kop singing back at him in my youth. Sad day. RIP Sammy
lanzaroteowl
Fond memories of him invading the pitch during the game at Swindon alone. So that he could kneel in front of Rodger Wylde and bow. Got carted off by Plod to much jeering and choruses if 'Sammy' from us. R.I.P. Sammy one of the true characters

Buckwheat
Don't know a Blunt from that era who didn't love Sammy. Wasn't reciprocated.
Patheard
Saw him a lot round Hackenthorpe, he was looking tired. Remember him well from the late 70's/early 80's usually taking a slash of throwing his scarf on the pitch (after a poor performance) One of the characters that we wont get back. A bit of Wednesday has died. RIP Sammy
