When Lee Stratford was chairman werent were aiming for a wage budget of 6.5m To challenge the top six? That was based on 20k ST sales. If so, it shows how chasing the Premier league has changed things very quickly 

 

 

Scary really, no wonder so many clubs are struggling, and will continue to struggle, now is the perfect opportunity to bring down wages right across the board at all levels of football, bet we don't take it.

We are massively overpaying.

 

I hope to god we start being more sensible. 

 

There is no need to pay anyone 20k a week in this league.

 

None of our big earners are worth it. If they are playing in this league they are mediocre footballers generally. Barring the odd exception.

 

None of them should be over 10k a week as you could get better from overseas for less. But British players earn a fortune in comparison to most of Europe's leagues. But they are not better players.

I'd like to bet there is as much of our wage bill being wasted than is actually being used.

Other senior players c£400k - £650k pa

Youth players £50k - £120k pa
