Popular Post N0rtherner
https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/alex-miller-arsenal-bombshell-highlights-area-sheffield-wednesday-chief-dejphon-chansiri-deserves-huge-credit-2934034 Just seen read this article from last evening, thought to share since I didn't see it on here, and Chansiri does deserve a little credit amidst everything else going on. Quote In making-up the remaining 20 per cent of salaries of non-footballing employees furloughed at the start of April, Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri – a man not shy of his rightful share of criticism – did something other club owners were either unwilling or unable to do. Conversations with club staff furloughed during that time show that it is a gesture that has not been taken for granted. Reports suggest the Thai businessman has funnelled somewhere close to £100,000 per day – every single day of his ownership – into Sheffield Wednesday FC. Conversely, Arsenal is simply looking to make 55 people on its staff redundant to cover their own expenses. 29

Instead he takes advice from a bloke who's business is solely aimed at making money from football clubs. 4 1

Popular Post bigdan2003
No PL club should be making staff redundant given the amount of money they receive and pay to players. I understand there might be a necessity to make roles redundant in businesses sometimes, but this stinks of opportunism from Arsenal. Perhaps controversial, but should clubs be punished for making staff redundant? Clubs get done for going into admin, or not paying players. Is this any different? It’s clear they can afford to keep these people on in the short term, at the very least until the end of this pandemic. Popular Post Beauchief Owl
DC's heart in the right place, just a pity his thinking is a bit muddled re other aspects of running the club. Needs to learn from his mistakes. He still seems willing to invest heavily into the club, to his credit, in spite of all the criticism he receives. 10 2
