Would football be better/worse if...

Recommended Posts

Obviously better, creates absolute clarity and reinforces sporting integrity throughout a season.

However, since our media overlords (Sky) bought the game, they dictate the rules and wouldn't stand for it as it affects their programming output.

I might be to the left of Chow Chein Chow Maine, but when it comes to football the gloves are off.

Spend as much as you want, buy and sell as many as you want till a certain date, install and sack managers whenever you wish.

Smash all VAR technology and delete for ever from the net.  Anyone whoever mentions the subject again to be sent to the tower

Kick off to be every Saturday at 15:00hrs and Tues or a Wed 19:30hrs.

Have at least four pubs within two hundred yards of the ground.

FA Cup Final to be played 15:00 on a Saturday last game of the season.

No water breaks.

If injured get off the pitch within 30 seconds to be treated or be sent off. If it's a head injury but only if blood is exposed can the player be taken off or a minute.  Game to carry on whilst been treated.

Stretchers should only ever be used in the case of near death or once in a five-year period.  Before the year 2000 you could probably count on one hand how many times the stretcher had been used since the 60's.

Agents to banned from the game all players to be represented by the PFA, it's their job, isn't it?

Goalkeepers to be sent off for not getting the ball back into play after twenty seconds.  (Athletes can cover a hundred meters in ten seconds, so they have plenty of time.)

Players injured for more than six weeks to be automatically transfer listed and their contract cancelled unless it's a broken limb.

No huddles.

Come out to cheers and clapping instead of girly music.

Fans to travel to away games by train, mini vans, coaches, drink will be allowed en route and it's up to the driver what route they take.

No more allocated pubs we are free to go where we like, till we break the law.

No food to cost more than £3.50

1) Not sure about this, maybe limit it to one change maximum.

2) I’d buy into that. Think the January window is a joke and only really benefits the entertainment industry as Sky make it a huge day which the past couple of years has been a damp squib.

1) The manager you appointed for your club couldn't be dismissed at any time during the season

2) You had to put together your squad by the first game of the season and couldn't change it at any point during the season and transfers could only ever happen during close season again

What do you reckon?

Seem's r8 to me.

I would add:

A squad of 28 players, which can only be added to from the clubs own academy.

So every team has to overload their squad, in the eventuality that most of these players won't play but just on the off chance the get injured.

OR

Scrap the transfer windows completely have a system where team have a squad of 20 players and if they get a long term injury or an offer they cannot refused the can replace a player up to the final 10 games of the season. You know the system we used to have before football became all about lining the pockets of a few clubs at the top.

Football needs a complete overall before everyone loses interest in it. EFL teams could go out of business while Man City spend £41m on a defender or Chelsea sign players for £100m. Something needs to change now.

1) Worse

2) Better

It would sort out the good coaches to the poor ones.

A good coach makes players better!

It would also make clubs really think about their recruitment and not be able to buy there way out of trouble!
