For the infinitesimally small amount if worth it may have - i do not believe we should have been sanctioned at all. Why should anybody not be allowed to spend money they have? But "rules being rules" (however peurile) then yes, i can fully see why any affected club may be extremely pee'd off that the sanction incurred in one season applies in another season Especially with precedent within the same division within the same season I think one point many are missing is that the ultimate FFP punishment for aggravated breach (we were clear of that) is auto relegation. The deduction is I theory meant to prevent promotion via overspending and we made it dead awkward by failing to get 12 points clear. I wonder if that is part of the reason it was suspended as it would effectively be the same as auto relegation otherwise. Whilst the EFL have been castigating the chansiris and the Morris’ of the league who pay their bills. They have Wigan, Charlton, bury who cannot trying to treat us as if we are in the same bracket. Bluesteel
There has been a lot of “Wednesday had players they couldn’t afford” type comments from other fans. But on the contrary we can afford them and the rules we abide by were set pre Chansiri and Morris and they have tried to challenge and change them to compete with parachute clubs (whether that is right is debatable). Even the likes of Barnsley probably make a loss and can’t afford theirs either in that sense but they will still sling it. fans do seem to confuse admin and FFP issues as similar when they are not.

Rod Little is one of these people, stating we won 6 points from Charlton this season with players we couldn't afford. Our rag tag team of £250k buys and free transfers that couldn't win a game to save their lives post Christmas. Maybe if we had played Charlton in 2017-18 and the players we spent money on (Abdi, Dutch lad, FF, Rhodes, and the list of other flops) actually played. Most of the CC team were freebies or low transfer fee players. Edited August 9, 2020 by Rogers

But "rules being rules" (however peurile) then yes, i can fully see why any affected club may be extremely pee'd off that the sanction incurred in one season applies in another season Especially with precedent within the same division within the same season What precedent? Administration rules are pretty much set in stone, was always going to be 12 points for Wigan and based on their position was applicable this season. The circumstances it happened in are pretty disgusting but had they not been deducted 12 points for administration then the EFL would have far more to deal with. The rules around P&S and the penalties are far more arbitrary in terms of when they are applied and how much. The breach we have been charged with relates to the 3 seasons ending 2017-18. Birmingham were charged for the same offence in the same accounting years but were deducted 9 points the season before last. We were within our rights to question the nature of the charges and it isn't our fault it took so long to bring the matter to a head on this basis. Last summer we reduced the wage bill significantly and sold a player for a big fee - taking steps to address or P&S position. Any gain we had in relation to our finances 2015-2018 was reduced this summer in that respect and so Charlton are probably in a position where they should be less aggrieved about when our deduction is applied than clubs we competed against in 2018-19 should be. Charlton should be looking at getting their own house in order. Who is it that is raising such concerns? Who owns the club? What role is the guy that was involved in the fall of Bury FC playing?
