Wilder would. You know that. So would Warnock. Megson too. The question remains, can Monk take a massive negative and turn it into a positive? Pod9
Pearson - said he’d never manage us numerous times as he likes living in Sheffield. Just done wonders at Watford to get sacked two games before the end of the season. There will be much better offers than us on his table. Megson - Would never succeed in today’s world. His methods are dated and today’s players wouldn’t respect him.
Mystic Neg
Paul Cook is the man we should get, bring best players from Wigan with him and have a whole season to make - 12 mean nothing and stay up. I would trust him to rebuild us and hopefully Chansiri has learnt a valuable lesson to support the manager. He has an excellent record and just resigned from Wigan. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53613205
parajack
Q What Manager, currently has managed to deal with a points deduction, & has more experience than Monk,in keeping a side in the Championship? Monk has done it with Birmingham, kept the Owls in the Championship this season, & knows the Club,(remaining) Players, and has a chance now to stabilise the Club, moving forward. The reasons why this Club got its self into financial issues, & poor recruitment REMAIN They predate even Jos's time(looking more & more like a victim of alleged 'player power' in my view) though his lack of knowledge of the Championship, and language barrier, made his time here finite....He did have to go...Changing Manager, under the same limitations would make even the most gifted, talented,Manager, FAIL. The hard core of 'players' allegedly causing these issues at S6 were the issue, and it had to be tackled.Monk called them out, first one to do so, & I personally think the season coming(IF Monk can recruit) will see an invigorated attacking Wednesday, overcoming the points deduction, and making a late go for the play offs(though remaining a Championship side is a realistic achievement) Time to knuckle down & get behind the Manager & the team, moving forward.Place the blame for our dismal season where it belongs...Those who turned in abysmal displays on the pitch...were allegedly 'injured' or ;out of form' Edited August 1, 2020 by parajack
Mystic Neg
DC - Let the Supporters Trust know you accept you've made an absolute pigs ear of things. Get on the phone to Megson and offer him the Director of Football position. Then get on the phone and offer the newly available Paul Cook the managers job. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53613205 Between them they can rebuild Wednesday sustainably and avoid the drop next season before pushing on long term. Cookie in particular would relish the chance to awake a sleeping giant and he has a great record of success. Megson loves the club. You need to take a step back, let it happen and stay in Thailand. 0114
No half decent manager is going to sign up to a job on -12 and in need of recruiting around 7+ players. Even more so when the players we’ve got only managed 4 wins in half a season. On paper it’s a certain relegation on the CV. Best we can do is get behind Monk.

Zero - daft as he is, surely DC can recognise that his plan isn't working. When things started going wrong with Carlos I was screaming for a strategy from DC. It never happened. Its now or never. I suspect never and we fold whoever has the poisoned chalice of our managerial post.
darra
11 hours ago, Jim said: I think we’d stand a chance of beating relegation if Megson was in charge. He’d certainly know how to create a siege mentality and encourage the players to bite and scratch for points which we have to do plus I think he’d relish the challenge. As for Monk the way we capitulated in the second half of the season and also some of the inept performances, you wouldn’t want him anywhere near this job now. As for the Birmingham comparisons, totally different situations as Birmingham were in a bit of form prior to their deduction as we have no form to speak of and haven’t had for a while. You might be right but Megson hasn't had a job since he left us unless I've missed something. Now I can't believe he hasn't applied for jobs. Maybe there's a reason he hasn't got one.

I’m surprised he’s been out of work as long as he has because I thought he did a good job here. In many ways we are in a similar situation to what we were when he first got the job, a squad that was going nowhere fast, poor home form, questionable attitudes, etc., etc.? As I’ve said before we need a manager who can re-attach the fans with club. Make us a part of the solution rather than a part of the problem. Ideally we need a Wednesday Man which Megson undoubtedly is. I think the next 2 weeks or so will tell us a lot about whether Monk is up to it or not or as at least the stomach for a fight?
