GARRY MONK vs NEW MANAGER THREAD

Recommended Posts

It is not difficult.  Birmingham were docked about 9 or 12 points that put them about 4th bottom.  Monk carried on and did good work and got them safe.

We will be BOTTOM by 12 points.  Marooned.  Isolated.  Fooked.

For all good intentions this Chairman has took the ********.  Nice day at Wembley though.

I don’t even know there are good intentions , I just think he’s plain thick . A trust fund baby who bought a toy because he’s bored . I hope the penny has finally dropped with some people . This moron will run the club into the ground

Bit of a difference between megson and Pearson .

The similarity is that neither would want to join the circus right now.

Even though megson has been on the scrap heap for 10 years I agree with you . Who would want to work for somebody as stupid as chansiri

Really wish people would stop with thjs Megson crap!

He's a footballing dinosaur, there's a reason why he's not had a managers job since he left us!

Free choice, turned a few jobs down because he didn't need the money.

He was sacked  and apparently his second in command won't work with him again

Right. Birmingham sacked him after he initially saved them from relegation and then overcome their nine-point deduction to guide them to mid-table safety in his first full season.

This season, they picked up 11 fewer points and only just escaped the drop with no points deduction.

There's obviously some bad blood regarding the circumstances of Monk's departure and Clotet taking his job, but I'm not sure that's any reflection on Monk. From what he's said, I don't think he'd work with Clotet again, either.

I'm not sure what your point is?

I think we’d stand a chance of beating relegation if Megson was in charge. He’d certainly know how to create a siege mentality and encourage the players to bite and scratch for points which we have to do plus I think he’d relish the challenge.

As for Monk the way we capitulated in the second half of the season and also some of the inept performances, you wouldn’t want him anywhere near this job now.

As for the Birmingham comparisons, totally different situations as Birmingham were in a bit of form prior to their deduction as we have no form to speak of and haven’t had for a while.

What form?  Steve Cotterill left a form of 7 wins in 27 matches, great form.

The season they had 9 points deducted, Monk was there from the start of it, was he not? 🤔

Strange title

I wasn’t aware we was looking for another manager

it needs a siege mentality now For us To get out of it

it needs us against the world Mentality And every fan to get behind Monk and the boys

we know where we are and what we need to do Snipping at players and management from the start isn’t going to help or build an atmosphere to fight

You obviously haven’t been reading any other topics recently.

Get one of the ‘sons’ in ASAP and yes it will cost CC to pay off Monk but each one of these ex players will have SWFC at heart. That’s also what’s missing a manager that has a bond with SWFC (think about the ‘dark side!’) After the ‘appeal’ the club needs to buckle down and stop signing so called ‘stars’ who have no feelings for the club except for the money even though hardly any ‘stars’ would want to sign now.
It’s now a time to grow in strength and resolve and IMO these two ex managers should be approached to steer our wonderful club to better times. CC should bite the bullet and do what’s best for the club because it’s his like it or not and spend wisely, as an owner of something you have to look after it, starting off with a new manager.

Chris Turner, Danny Wilson both had connections with Wednesday.

They both were very successful managers with us.  I'm liking your style.

Ola Tidman as goalkeeper coach, Beswetherwick as defensive coach, Hirsty the club chef and dietician, Nile Ranger community officer, Abdi our fitness coach, Colin West as penalty coach.

Get it done Chansiri, Make Wednesday Great Again.

Megson working with Chansiri and Paxo, hmmmm I give that about 10 minutes before he launches one or both of them.

That’s what it needs though. Some fight, some passion, someone who really cares and that’s what we need next season. I don’t think Monk gets this club, I really don’t and his demeanour and constant going through the motion sound bites are not going to galvanise this club for the fight ahead?

If Megson’s a footballing dinosaur, what’s Monk?

Nigel Pearson sounds perfect.

only last season he took over as manager at a club who were 7 points from safety and ( checks notes ) they were relegated.

Why would you bring in a manager who failed to recover 7 points and say here you go , it’s -12 this time?

Pearson is the man but he won't come. I suppose our owner could make him the kind of offer he couldn't refuse though it's worth a try. I've always been a big Megson fan and I think they should have brought him back after Carlos left but I worry now that he's been out of the game too long.

Now we know we're going to have to make up 12 points next season, and up to now without a forward line and the rest all playing mediocre it's finally time to bring in the man that will save us next season, ... he's old, he's wise and he's NEIL WARNOCK.

I think we've been very very lucky to serve the punishment next season because it should have been THIS season fact. Charlton Athletic are considering appealing the decision, .. and they could win the appeal.

Bring grandad in, even if it's only to make sure we stay up.

What a b100dy mess this club is in.

We need a local man with a big character in charge. Someone who will frighten the living daylights out of the players. Brian Blessed anyone?

Would certainly get his point across. He did learn how to whisper in a helicopter
