Again, they don't.

They are a member of the league and bound by the rules. Should they disagree they should propose changes to the game. They cannot wish to change things retrospectively to their benefit.

I agree the EFL is as clear as mud. Parachute payments and FFP are a joke.

So why haven’t top sports lawyers come out and said they can’t sue or appeal?

Hope this means an overhaul of the EFL and rules with more transparency. This could trundle on until pre season.

Even this could be argued as our season finished but the Championship season hadn’t. I’m just putting myself in the shoes of a Charlton or Barnsley fan (thinking if it were us instead). We’d fight it too and the fans would be up in arms, not saying oh well never mind.

Probably because top sports lawyers rarely say anything? They let judgements and case law speak.

It clearly states after the completion of the clubs final fixture. We aren't in the play-offs.

Unless they're actively involved and getting paid why would they care?

Odd how the commission waited until this time though, eh?

Could be argued the opposite direction also. If it wasn't for Covid-19 the season would have been completed months ago and thus the sanctions would have been next season.

Charlton need to sort their own backyard first IMO. Absolute sh*t show for years.

Charlton can whinge all they like.

Not a chance in hell that we'll be playing in League 1 next season.

But it isn't anyones job to provide a professional judgement (and stake their reputation by even making an opinion) on something they care little for and aren't getting paid to do.

It also means the commission would have been able to sort our case quicker. Swings and roundabouts.

Hopefully if we appeal. The deduction is reduced to -6 points it get applied to this season just gone and everyone is happy. Right? That's what Charlton want isn't it?lol

I really do think if we'd have picked up enough points after the restart to avoid relegation with the points deduction, they would have applied it this season and not deferred it.

Lets remember that clubs can moan all they want but the rules are clear. You dont get enough points you are relegated

Perhaps Im just old fashioned.
