As I’ve said before, the Wigan fans hated Cook, wanted him out and had demonstrations organised just prior to lock down. Poor team selections, attritional football, bad subs and could never change the pattern of the game for the better. They obviously quietened down towards the middle and end of their good run, but they have never really taken to him.

Just heard that he's resigned to move to Bristol City leaving Wigan 5 weeks to find a manager. Is it just me who thinks it's similar to what Bruce did to us? That would make it a no from me.

Played 25 won 4 drawn 8 lost 13 you’d think it was  monks record but it’s paul cooks up to the turn of the year

a record like that here wouldnt allow him to become the current flavour of the week He’d have been long hounded out

his stock has risen because they’ve managed to pull a few results out under difficult circumstances at a time when half the league aren’t playing for much and a good number of players are more concerned about not getting injured

but let’s go all out to get the current hard done to media darling because that worked so well last time when we brought in some guy who’s teams played like Brazil or so the media liked to say

For those criticising Cook’s record/character, I’d like to put your minds at rest.

You’ll be pleased to know, there is now 0% chance of him taking over at SWFC this summer.

Why?

Yesterday’s announcement that we are starting the next season on -12 points will put off any established Championship manager from considering the Wednesday manager job.

We’re a poisoned chalice right now.

Even if Garry Monk resigns tomorrow (hardly impossible, Monk might want to avoid having a relegation on his CV), the likes of Paul Cook, Danny Crowley, Nigel Pearson, Pep Clotet, Mick McCarthy, Lee Johnson, Tony Pulis, etc will not want to touch us for the foreseeable future.

WTF

Carlos and Megson got sacked for....

Wait for this...

Hang on.. it's a cracker...

They got sacked for....

Getting into a slump and not being able to turn it around!!!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Meg son took us from a downward spiral and got us up to third. He then signed the winger we were crying out for. Who proved to be the catalyst for our promotion.

Megsons last game was a victory , hardly not turning round the slump is it? Carry on with the desperation tactics though, it’s amusing.

Monk won't resign so we're safe

He got sacked and replaced with another manager who got us promoted

He got sacked for a slump he couldn't turn around

Keep clinging onto your one win (his last game) though, it's amusing

At the time of his sacking he had the third best win percentage of any manager in Sheffield Wednesday's history. His last result before being sacked was a 1–0 victory over Sheffield United in the Steel City derby.

Do you want to compare to Garry Monks win percentage?
