Paul Cook

Recommended Posts

Don’t think he’s ever had the sack, has won the league titles with each of his last 3 clubs and left them in a higher division than when he joined.

Not Sure how Monk compares.

What you on about?

Just show us the form table for the first half of the season!

Let's talk about it!

The firm table for first half season means nothing, as we know ourselves. It's where you finish over 46 games that matters, and Wigan would have been well above us if it wasn't for their moronic owners.

Well we can post the form table from the first half of last season and totally compare the two managers fairly

Yes, We were third. Shows how poor we have been.

It was just an alternative view.

Cook is up and coming.

Monk is not. He has tried and failed. No major achievements.

Isn't Monk a younger manager than Cook?

As much as I think Cook could do a good job fans shouldn't expect attractive football, from what I've seen of Wigan they play long ball football.

Let's have a look at the league table over 46 games then

So Garry Monk finished above Paul Cook over 46 games?

Only because of their owners. On the games played, Cook did.

Because Wigan's owners made a bigger fudge off field than we did! Imagine having that to work with and still getting little Wigan to more points on the pitch than Sheffield Wednesday!

To be fair monk hasn’t managed in L1 or L2

That's true, walked into his first managerial job due to being in the right place at the right time rather than based on any managerial experience or ability and has been on the merry-go-round ever since with little success.

How come that phrase can't be used with Garry Monk's time at SWFC?

It's a bit unfair/one sided all this innit really mate

One rule for Cook, Another for Monk

Even though Monk finished above Cook over 46 games

How's Cook's Premier League and experience of managing in Europe record?

We don't need someone with Premier League experience , we need someone who's improved teams and got teams promoted. Where's Monks experience of that?

You ask people to put their arguments about what Monk has to work with into perspective and then just give this kind of response when Cook clearly did better results wise than Monk.
