Paul Cook

Recommended Posts

Played 25 won 4 drawn 8 lost 13 you’d think it was  monks record but it’s paul cooks up to the turn of the year

a record like that here wouldnt allow him to become the current flavour of the week He’d have been long hounded out

his stock has risen because they’ve managed to pull a few results out under difficult circumstances at a time when half the league aren’t playing for much and a good number of players are more concerned about not getting injured

but let’s go all out to get the current hard done to media darling because that worked so well last time when we brought in some guy who’s teams played like Brazil or so the media liked to say

Exactly

But you can absolutely guarantee that those posting 'get cook in' don't even know the facts and that this is the case

It's just the latest trendy manager name to chuck around and demand to try and sound cool to everyone on the internet

In reality Cook's record up to the turn of the year was Played 25 won 4 drawn 8 lost 13

I wanted Cook this time last year before he was "trendy" and i wanted him based on his OVERALL record in management....ie he has left every club he has managed in a better state than he found it , plays front foot football that is worth watching , has won promotions , and has an eye for a player..............in particular unearthing gems in the loan market and lower divisions.

Now if only i could think of a team that is in dire need of qualities like that.

Agree, I wouldn't say he's a top class manager, certainly not the messiah.

IMO he's objectively a slightly better championship manager than Monk. Would he be an upgrade, probably, but not going to happen.

DC seems to have settled on Monk, so no point debating alternatives, put aside grievances and get behind our current manager whilever he is here.

Bullshitter Monk as Manager

On the plus side, Chansiri's roses have done brilliantly this summer. It could be worse, imagine being in lockdown with Monk. Hell is Monk.

Please don't chuck name calling in like that

It's really tacky

except you don’t judge a manager on his last 25 games.

his win ratio is 43% overall.

hes also got the last 3 teams he has managed promoted - and playing a good brand of football.

Cook's always got laryngitis, but he's better than Monk based on his overall record.

But would he come here?

If we appeal and get our points docking halved (which would solve the Charlton problem too for the EFL), then we'd be a decent prospect.

I mean there is money to spend here, so long-term it would be a good move for him, but he'd have to keep us up.
