asteener1867 Posted July 24, 2020 Share Posted July 24, 2020 I read "Re-aligning the Rhomboid" by Walter Winterbottom ..It was a good read but probably over the heads of most on here....I obviously understood it perfectly. instead of playing a roving false number 9 in the hole, with an overlapping wing half...he played a false no 8 who didn't rove, but actually "Hid" in the hole!!!!! This confused most managers at the time, until, they realised the................... "False no 8".... wasn't roving !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was in the HOLE!! all the time!!!! I know!!!!!! It was only a passin' centre half outta position that noticed him!!! He shouted "123 Dun yer"..and the whole system went to pot!
