Unfortunately we don’t have the players Liverpool and City have; easy to have players pushing up if you have the majority of possession and applying the forward pressure. 
 

We ship goals in for fun, so 2 at the back would be a joke.

I prefer the W M formation popular in the 1930's called the W M as it resembles ......er.........well a W and an M in the formation.

Defenders forming a W.............and the attacking players an M

A sort of 3  -  2  -  2  -  3

 

And by making the centre forward the No: 10........you can also incorporate the " false No: 9 " tactic ( also popular in the 30S) as well where the 

centre forward can track back to fill the gap in midfield ( indicated by the crappy arrow above the No: 10. )

 

 

Of course we could just revert to the 2 - 3 - 5 formation ( inverted pyramid ) as well.

( were'nt we playing that in the 60's  ? )

Haha. It’s going back quite a few years but my recollection was that when one got perky the other one did too but in reverse....!!

All the top sides do it yet we persist with old fashioned methods and get caught out. It’s never been more obvious than the 2nd half of this season yet Monk is oblivious.

Sounds like they were on some sort of pulley system. I’ve ended relationships for less, I’m not proud.
