Planning for Next Season

Monk saying we need to wait on clarity on where we are so we can move forward.

That's not going to happen for a few weeks, unless either party who loses decides not to appeal.

The clarity will need to include at what point is it too late to relegate us if its a big points deduction. Say the season starts in  mid September, I would expect the cut off would be by the end of August? Therefore, with a week before August starts, there's only 4/5 weeks to get the decision out, either party lodges an appeal (up to 14 days), the date for the appeal to be set, the appeal to start and decision made. It's not going to happen.

it’s ridiculous we have to keep waiting and can’t get signings done because we don’t know what league we will be in while other teams will be able to make signings and plan for next season. Absolutely pathetic situation

We need some positivity...the club is on its knees

Monk needs to go first. Then all the backroom staff and start again.

We need a manager who can generate some positive vibe and quick

Oh, for a modern day  Big Jack

If we're going to get rid of Monk then do it quickly, along with Bullen.

Consider bringing in Danny Cowley early doors, along with his full coaching staff while still on the market.

-Imo he's a perfect fit for a complete rebuild on a limited budget, League One experience.

If we stay up, tie down Iofa to a longer contract and make Bannan captain.

Listen to offers for all other senior players.

Cut all ties with dodgy foreign recruitment companies and agents.

Bring in an experienced DOF like Steve Walsh to rebuild our recruitment and management team.

The season is now done, and we now have to start planning for next season right now.

Points deduction or not, we can start putting the pieces in place for next season straight away.

Anything about points deductions or the like are just excuses or distractions. What can we do right now that will make us better going forward.

My suggestions would be:-

Review of the management structure within the club - both playing and non-playing. Hopefully bring in a CEO + others.

Approach free agents, or those coming towards the end of their contracts, to see who is within a wage structure regardless of what league we are in.

Positive PR for/with the fans - review ticket prices, food, drink, merchandise, naming of a stand, kit. Get the fans back on side.

We can moan and whinge all we want, feel sorry for ourselves, or we can look straight to the future, use all the time we have available to build for success. No time like the present (well, maybe get some sleep first).

Agree with all that.

Maybe bring back those nice Ipswich stylee shirts as well.

They seemed to go down well with the fans at the time.

Whatever division we’re in, going in to the new season with Monk being in charge is like being sat in a bath slashing your wrists while someone chucks in a plugged in toaster for good measure? 😫

If you keep monk, you recruit your paixao back hander signings and we lose the first game of the season, then we're back to where we are now and you then have to appoint a manager who has to work with someone elses players. Today has to be the start of something: an older head to steady the ship and get the team doing the basics, or a manager/head coach with a specific style of playing and the authority to recruit players for said system. No one wants to see us get beat, but it's more palatable when you can see it's the teething problems of something rather than what we're being served now. With so many outgoings this is a real opportunity to shape this squad. Dont waste it!

I'm sure some planning will be going on but unfortunately the problem is, which league and starting position (points wise). So any planning can't be implemented without any clear resolution AND subject to whichever league and starting points could severely impact our ability to attract players in the so called rebuild
