They've leeched off the Northern 'working classes' for ever, taking their votes totally & absolutely for granted for years, not even bothering to canvass on occasions, so certain were they of securing their vote. They've become ever more London centric over the last 20 years, until they've become the party of the upper echelons of the Public Sector, college lecturer's, council leader's, NHS bosses etc, all on 6 figure salaries. I work in manufacturing & they don't even know it exists. Any vague idea as to why the famed 'red wall' turned blue, or is that another Russian conspiracy.
