But it’s a sad indictment of the last few years that not one player off that list was a regular FIT starter. Guest mkowl Posted July 21, 2020 Share Posted July 21, 2020 The key was post the Wembley loss to Hull to sit back and identify where the squad needed strengthening - but with a plan in place to identify and try to recruit younger ones to fit in and potentially be a saleable asset. Instead we acquired off the shelf, expensive but injury prone players and a manager in Carlos who seemed incapable of integrating a good proportion of said players into the team. Would have also been nice to replace them with young hungry players that want to progress. So to answer your final question, it's partly what I wanted but you have to replace the ones that have gone... Which we are still to do. Thays the interesting part, who comes in next. Some should have been sold earlier, some weren't needed and some simply did a decent job to the end of their contract but wouldn't have attracted much of a fee if sold earlier anyway.
