Relegation - Worst Case Scenario

Recommended Posts

It’s ok, but what makes it even worse is that we could still have the Bannan, Lees & Dawson “triumvirate of tedium” on the books!

Went down in 1990 and we had arguably most enjoyable season since the Second World War afterwards.
Not that I want to go down and would be a bit embarrassing but not the end of the world.

But that was relegation to Division two effectively this would be relegation to division three.

We've gone down twice this millenium and its always been a culture shock. Two 16th place finishes in opening league one seasons.

Ipswich thought it'd be easy. Sunderland did. Etc etc.

We won't go down and we've got millions to spend. Stop panicking.

exactly this. I very much doubt it would be an instant bounce back. Let’s just hope it doesn’t happen, would be a disgrace to this club and the fanbase.

If god forbid we do end up relagated, we better get reach sold off quick.

He'd probably die of fear in the opening 5 mins of the first away game.

Been having this argument on the EFL hearing thread so will move it to here.

I don't want to go down, however, it isnt the end of the world.

Of course it is easier to be succesful at that level. The Championship is a strong league (though next seasons will be weaker) but if we were in league one it is much easier to blood youngsters and find bargains that work in a winning team.

So no its not ideal and its rubbish, but there ARE positves.

If you've got the correct people who will make good decisions behind the scenes, we've seen going down to League One can actually act as somewhat of a reset and be galvanising for some clubs, of a similarish size to us, Norwich, Southampton, Wolves, etc

So in conclusion I think it would be an absolute disaster for us.
