To add context; quote from Clotet " With Garry, together we had five fantastic years."

The falling out came after Monks departure from Brum with Monk feeling that Clotet had stabbed him in the back.

Yep, there will be context behind all of Monks fallings out, in his short managerial career.

Whatever side of the fence you’re on, it’s pretty clear that Monk has lost a sizeable chunk of the fan base?

That in itself is quite an achievement in less than 12 months in the job?

With the possible exceptions of Ron Atkinson, Stuart Gray and Steve Bruce (who was only here for 18 games) every single Wednesday manager since 1988 has faced significant numbers of supporters calling for them to be sacked at some point. So it's not really that remarkable.

Like every single football club then.

Not really any different to other managers and other clubs mate - it’s modern football that fans spit their dummies all over the floor at a rapid rate

Paul Cook for one, more success in the game than Monk,.......

thats a moot point ......cook's success as come at a lower level and he's never finished top half in the championship which monk does on a regular (ish) basis . ....

Regular as in once, you mean?

Yes, everything has context. If the suggestion in this instance was  a failure to work with a close colleague without rancour the "five fantastic years" would appear to dispel that. The fall out occurred after Monk left.

Yep, Clotet club hopped with Monk, until they fell out with each other.

No they fell out as a result of Monks departure. They had no issues when working together.

I'm not sure its relevant if they fell out a few days before or after Monk got his P45. But you seem to know.

Cook has managed Chesterfield, Portsmouth, Wigan and Accrington Stanley, which of those teams would you have expected him to guide to a top half Championship finish given where they were when he took over? He has been successful in his last 3 jobs and has left for a better job each time.

Monk got a job at a club that were on the road to Premier League stability based on the fact he was part of the fabric rather than any managerial experience and has since had jobs that when appointed he would have been expected to lead the clubs to a top half/mid-table Championship finish.

without sounding like a stuck record.. I'm one of his supporters.. I want him to be given an opportunity

to build a team, which he can do this summer / pre-season

If it goes to a crock of sheitte by xmas (ie not in top 10).. then I'll be not one of his supporters.. simples.

It's all on DC.  Still waiting for Monk to be able to bring his own no. 2 in and not be forced to make do with dated Hillsborough furniture as his lead assistant.

GM: "We want to try and finish unbeaten and get points. The approach will be to try and win both games."

GM: It's been a big demand this period but the players have just got on with it. The scheduling hasn't been kind to us but we've stuck in there and worked hard and that's credit to the condition of the players and the work they've done

GM: [On the post-lockdown period] I've learned a lot, it's not been ideal for anybody but there is a lot you can take out of it. You have to take out of it what you think you can use going forward and use it as a positive

I actually cant beleive there are any of you!

You’re by passing a whole group of realists ... Monk is most definitely not my choice as a manager.
However he has has to deal with a number of ridiculous situations since arriving and how he gets the occasional result out of the squad I’ve no idea.

Week by week the club ( not the necessarily the playing staff) becomes less appealing to any potential new manager
