robbie
just something a bit different, I've been reading about the Sheffield gang wars in the 1920's In the book by J.P. Bean there is a copy of a letter written by Lawrence Fowler two days before he was hanged, one of two brothers executed for the murder of William Plommer during the Sheffield gang wars in 1925 Just a little aside, see the last line bottom left, he has clearly written "Play up Wednesday" at the end of the letter, he couldn't have been all that bad

Blue and white
90 percent of our players and our current manager want to think themselves kicking you can no longer be hung for thieving as they have been stealing a living all season.
Road Runner
You just know the EFL are reading this and ticking another 10 point deduction. 1
Steve Down South
It's a good book, well worth reading. Sheffield’s very own Peaky Blinders, with the Park Brigade and the Mooney Gang.

Bluesteel
It’s surreal to think of a tommy Shelby character going through the same football angst as us 100 years later. Shows what a responsibility it is to get things right both at a club like this but also football in general.

alan48
Charlie Peace was stirring things up in the gang wars in the 1880s and was eventually hanged for killing a policeman. His gang was also around Darnall .There was reference to footy in a play about him at the Crucible theatre and I'd assume it it must have been Wednesday as piggies had not been born . Think it was ' Life and times of Charlie Peace.'.

ChinaOwl
He should have this EFL independent panel presiding over his case. He would still be alive now waiting for the verdict. 1

Road Runner
I've heard of the Sheffield gangs but didn't realise how big it was. Definitely going to have more of a read on it.
