malek
We have bunch of players that are not suited to play 3-5-2 and that never played it before. Really can't see why Monk is persisting with it ?!

striker
I think the formation has merit, the problems we're having are personnel, in terms of choice available and fitness. Edited July 9, 2020 by striker

We have an issue with our midfield not scoring enough. With that formation, Wickham is getting very lonely but we cannot play two in the middle either because we get overrun. In that sense, 3-5-2 is the best option we have but we don't seem to have the proper shaped pegs in the holes in that one either. Thought I'd seen that Urhoghide was back in training. Maybe not match ready tho. I guess the hope is that with the two wide men no longer being as defensive they can push forwards more and get closer to Wickham. Bannan's finishing is not the greatest, but if anyone can open a door in our team it's him. Sadly we've not really had a goalscoring mid for a few years. Not since Lee was at his best. I guess we could use Bannan beside Luongo (tho I dont think he's at his best there) and use Lee supporting Wickham.
