I’m hoping that’s why we’ve gave him a new contract. To get some sort of fee for him. But we don’t usually do good deals in the transfer market unfortunately.

The only half decent Fee that Wednesday have had was Greg.

Think tough decisions need to be made on players who are out of contract in 2021. We need to stop letting contracts run down that see us making nothing on players.

Barry Bannan, Tom Lees, Liam Palmer, Adam Reach, Kieran Westwood and Jordan Rhodes are all out of contract in 2021. Decisions need to be made this summer on them.

Bannan who is 30, 31 when his deal ends in 2021. Now may be the last time to cash in. We’ve seen players don’t get better or fitter going into our 30s and the last thing we want is having a 33 year old Bannan on big money in 3 years time.

Adam Reach however is 27, worth another 3 year deal. But if he isn’t interested we need to be looking to move him this summer.

As a club we need to be proactive not reactive. Make tough decisions that fans maybe don’t full get but are for the best interest of the club financially.

Don’t really understand why the discussions about future players / contracts is even taking place. We have No idea what league we’ll be in next season, no idea what points we’ll start on or what financial and FFP restrictions we’ll be under. Don’t think the vast majority appreciate the utter mess this club is in because of our owner.

Let’s just calm down with the hysteria and hope for a decent summer/autumn transfer window. To be fair to Monk he’s laid his cards on the table early doors and we all know what type of player he wants and who he wants to get rid of.

I think we have to start with a clean slate and give everyone currently here a chance to have a pre season under Monk. My opinion is that Wildsmith, Borner, Iorfa and Luongo are a nucleus of a good team.
Can we all just try and be positive and be thankful we’ve shed some dead weight.

Yes u can if someone willing to take them on. Sure someone would be willing to take Westwood on.
Lees not one of the top earners and if we wanted rid then could sell cheap or free giving new club chance pay more wages.

Don’t think Westwood will be as easy to move as you might think. In the current climate can’t see any club offering the type of earnings he receives here. Unless he is motivated to move in order to get games, and I don’t think he appears to be that concerned, then he will sit it out.
The only real chance would be for Wednesday to let him go for no fee so he can receive a signing on fee in lieu of pay

Lees is very much one of our top earners, he was on top of his game when he signed his new contract.

Theres no top half Championships club would be interested now at £20k+ a week and no bottom half club would blow their budget on him.

If Monk doesn’t want him n he wants regular football then he has decision to make.
