Where are the goals going to come from

Without Fletcher and FF (to a much lesser extent) we have only scored 32 goals this season, an average of 0.84 a match.

If the EFL hit us with a deduction I’m worried were not gonna have the firepower for a relegation fight

It’s a worry yes, but theoretically, we only need one to be in with a chance of taking the points

During the Chansiri era we’ve been overly reliant on having a strong defence as we don’t score enough goals.

The two seasons we finished in the Top 6 were in the main down to the defence as we conceded 45 in each season while scoring 66 and 60 respectively.

A statistic that the Westwood critics will love is when he misses a chunk of the season the defence goes to pot in comparison, 60 and 62 goals conceded in the last two seasons. 50 conceded already with 8 games still to go. Goalscoring wise 59 and 60 scored with 47 scored so far this season. So in a nutshell Monk either tries to make us more of an attacking threat or he gets us back to being more frugal at the back which would require either recalling Westwood or getting in a keeper of similar experience and ability.

Weren’t we linked with Foderingham? Since then however, Monk has said he trusts our young keepers

Our record of conceding when Dawson is in goal is shocking. He’s probably seen 70 goals or more put past him in his last 40-50 appearances? I know he can’t be criticised on here but the difference between when he’s the regular No 1 and Westwood’s between the sticks regularly is palpable.

Westwood was a fantastic keeper in this division and unfortunately we were always going to struggle to find anyone of his ability and influence on the back 4.

Wickham looks sharper..and many defenders won't win in a challenge with him.

Agree, hoping just a match fitness thing when he first came, pinned their marker to the floor when he scored, can only

get better.
