Agreed.

 

But not when he was central. And certainly not when he was central with Hooper.

Yes they did work well together but that was over 4 years ago now which is a very long time in professional sport.

Thing is Matt, you have to ask yourself, was that just a natural decline, or was it hastened by tactics? 
Probably it was a bit of both, mainly as a result of a short term recrUitment strategy outlined by the chairman. However, as the football has become grimmer, under a succession of dour managers, the drop off in previously good players has been alarming
