Hindsight eh.. not one fan would have sold him back then and I bet theres not one post from back then to suggest so. And now the chairman is getting slated for not selling. Fickle fans spring to mind.

Well that’s a load of crap.  I would have sold him after the Norwich debacle.  Said so at the time.

ff fans fave in past......................

Not done much for a while though has he really? One of our top earners, hit and miss form - you'd offer him a new contract based on that with what he'd want to stay? Fair play.

Fox has had one half decent season regardless of where the criticism comes from, and the bottom line is, if they don't want to stay, we shouldn't be fighting for them to do so.

If it was my money, I wouldn't be chucking it hand over fist when we've achieved nothing.

So you're guessing

Why am I guessing?

Fletcher hadn't agreed to stay for July before we recommenced the season ... And only a week or so before Monk was aiming thinly veiled criticism at Lyle Taylor at Charlton for showing loyalty.

He then includes Fletcher without his commitment.

And so we move on. Not a bad thing. We need a fresh start in a lot of ways.

Hopefully Monk may be thinking about a new job opportunity too.

Can’t get emotional over departures when performances on the pitch have been so disappointing of late.

A new start is going to be good forthe club. Younger legs, and players eager to succeed are what we need.

Absolutely spot on.

Sad to see Fletcher go as I really like him. But time not on his side and already injured.

Forestieri has sulked for a while now but I will still miss him.

Fox turned it around but he’s replacable.

The good thing is it forces us down a different route. I can understand why these players wouldn’t risk staying but we have also looked after 2 of them during lengthy lay offs. Can’t help but think they owed us a couple of weeks.

But how do you know that Monk knew that?  Who told him?

I would imagine the 'offers' are a million miles away from what we threw around in 15 - 17.

FF could probably get a championship club - not a big one though; someone like Middlesbrough, Preston, OPR. Will they give him a 3-yr on £30k - doubt it, so his market value is probably around max £20k/week

Fletch could potentially end up at a Bolton/Sunderland or Wigan at best. Again, at 34 yr old you'd only offer him a 1yr deal on max £20k/week + goal bonus.

I never been bothered or impressed by Fox - he ended looking better at the end of his SWFC career, which coincided with a dip in our form and level of player at the club. He's on par with Palmer for and I wouldn't lose ended sleep if he left either. Fox's market value can't be more than £10k/week. If so, we either offered him less or not the contract term he wants. Might end up at Luton or Rotherham.
