oldishowl
Unless I am reading that wrong it doesn’t make our position any clearer. Could be this season, next season, or hopefully never

striker
Sounds like someone at the EFL having a bit of a mood about the pressure they're being put under (rightly so) and trying to pass the buck. I may have missed it but us and Wigan referenced, no mention of Derby?! They are the ones actually charged with breaking P&S which carrys the punitive 12 points plus aggravating factors penalty, some on here seem to think we are due (which we aren't). Still clear as mud!! Edited July 20, 2020 by striker

stocksyuto
Hows that good news? Yea great, start a season in the championship minus points possibly relegating us anyway fml.
pazowl55
So basically if Wigan dont win. then whoever finishes in 21st place may still eventually get relegated.

That late Charlton goal might have really cost them dear. 90+3.
Guest
It is beyond a joke this. Although the case wasn't actually announced until November, everyone within the game knew we were in financial trouble and it probably affected the type of manager we could attract when Brice left. It certainly would have affected our approach in the January transfer window and will be affecting our plans for next season. We have already been punished, regardless of whether we are actually found guilty and what may follow. Never mind other clubs complaining about how the situation has affected them. WalthamOwl
Let’s hope Fulham beat Wigan then and we beat Boro. Might end up helping us if we do get -12 this season. Way a stupid statement from the EFL though. Basically telling us nothing we didn’t know.
WalthamOwl
Not sure that’s what the EFL statement is saying?
Taximark
So in our case potential players may not sign because they will not know if it will be Championship football for 2-3 yr contract or L1 ( if we get a higher penalty then 12 points) Absolutely stupid this. NeonLeon
That Daily Mail piece lasted long! What was it? 10mins before the EFL contradicted it! . Edited July 20, 2020 by NeonLeon
striker
Although we havent been charged with what the Mail allege (our charge is misconduct, a miscellaneous charge in the absence of a clear rule break, relating to the timing and payment terms of the ground sale), therefore take the trustworthiness of the article at face value. At least it does look like the mood music pointing to no punitive punishment this season, which would need to be appealed.
SiJ
At this rate, we will be drawing straws.
