A principal in English law is that a Gentlemen word is his honour. In DC case there is no dispute of his intent or the date which that intent was to come into play. There can be no contention because the spoken contract was between two companies wholly owned by DC. ( That date was a best fit to improve the status of SWFC) Whatever a scribe may have written consequently is of no consequence and makes no sense in terms of DC improving the fortunes of his club.

so we won’t be found guilty and docked points, in your opinion of course.

I don't think so. Anything handed down that is unacceptable will be appealed. Bit of a worry that no agreement has been reached.

The sooner we can get to the appeal stage, where the EFL’s original decision to deduct us 22 points and fine us £5million is thrown out for being ludicrous, the better.

ha ha yeah whoever loses this will appeal. I know it’s been asked already but if we lose, EFL say they will dock us points will the points be taken from us straight away or does the appeal need to happen first?

Wonder what would happen to a possible points deduction, if there was an appeal and then possibly taken to CAS.

Can't give us a points deduction this season if an appeal finds us not guilty next season!

exactly. If we get docked points which results in us being relegated, we then appeal and get found not guilty, they can’t reinstate us in the league? Appeals are going to make things messy whoever is doing the appealing.

Brentford’s model has little to do with catchment area and “conveyor belt”

1 They don’t have a youth academy so attracting players is solely down to the recruitment team of the 1st team.

2 Most of Brentford’s moneyball signings have come from either lower league clubs or foreign clubs, recent examples of Ollie Watkins from Exeter and Benrama from Nice (He was in their second team).

The simple fact is Brentford have recruited very smartly for a number of years where as we threw money at over priced players because we only had a short term plan.

Not quite true. They replaced their Academy with an "elite" squad of U18-U21 which they invest in, develop, bring into the first team/sell on. Those players cost next to nothing and were/are sold at a very nice profit. There's your conveyor belt. And where do they get those "elite" - scouting and the attraction of where they are. They have the pick of such players. We don't. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they aren't astute. What I am saying is simply that their model works because of where they are, which is why so few others (I can't think of any) below premiership and outside London get close to it.

And even then, would you really want us to be like Brentford. It's a club run by (sorry MKOwl) accountants....which  obviously explains the passion and huge success. Let's face it. It's the first fixture we all look out for when the list comes out.

Maybe that is the real reason for bringing this forward, everyone knows that there will be an appeal whoever wins and it needs to be sorted before the season ends

Awkward to relegate some team after the season has ended for a misdemeanor in two seasons previously ( this season has ended, so it is a misdemeanor in the 18-19 season)
