so im looking at the thread as an (nosey) outsider and can see nowt.

the rumour goes that you might get a 21 points deduction, 12 this term and 9 for next.

how close is that to reality?

That won’t happen.

If there’s a deduction it’ll be in one season. With maybe a further one suspended

wigan look as if they will get their 12 points deduction and stay up

(they play us (hull city) next tuesday at their gaff) so theres 3 points

innit poo how money now rules the game and has done for decades.

whatever happened to jumpers for goalposts, home town players playing for their club for life and enough pay(cash) on the day to keep most chairmens back pockets  happy.

our club died 2007. the season before we got promoted to the prem.

the prem seems to be the holy grail and the desire to get there at all costs is now proving to be an insane gamble by owners who are insulated from real financial damage. its the club itself that loses out.

one set of our owners actually borrowed money off the club putting it into debt so as to fund purchases in the prem. by the time we got relegated 2 yrs later the debt was 40 million. nowt nowadays. but 12 yrs ago to tin pot hull city it was almost administration liquidation factor.

happy days ... not

Like us you’ve had some questionable owners.

But, there’s a growing list of ‘mediocre teams’ (I mean in size, I’m not having a go) that make it to the Prem, take the millions then drop like a stone. Look at the bottom half of the championship.

we are unique in that we arent in financial ruin

we managed to get back to the prem a couple of times, auto and then play offs v you lot coutesy of your old mate the dinner lady.

our egyptian owners seemed to have the finances sussed and returning to the prem seemed so easy. but our owners were hell bent on being bigger than anyone and but brucey walked hours after beating you lot and we started the season under phelan  with 14 players. they then set their stall out to milk the club. input as little as possible and take the 5% interest on our 80 million debt to them.

they run our club frugally. but they are quids in. we are one of the best run clubs in the league if the criteria is spend no money and sell players on and pocket the fees.

the club sees nowt and slowly sinks down the leagues.

they arent daft and are basically allowed by the efl/fa to take the ********.

the fans have mostly had enough

more people watched us play doncaster at home in div 4 15 years ago then went to wembley v the owls.

i remember bradford city being the first club to gamble on staying in the prem with relgation and players on silly money unable to be fielded.

its all too much.

Bradford thought it was a good idea to get players from a team that got relegated the season before.

Pretty sure they took at least 3 off us. Bad business to recruit defenders from a team that couldn’t defend.

Nobody knows.

Anyone who tells you they have inside info is lying. The first we will know is when one of the parties involved makes an official announcement.

Eh?

How can it be " lucky" if someone from the efl sanctioned it.

And it's always nice to get off with something that you weren't guilty of ....init.?

They weren't supposed to sanction it. It was a mistake by the EFL and that is where we get lucky.

Telling that apparently the person who sanctioned it left shortly after (if true, after all it came from an earlier post somewhere in this thread).

So why haven't the EFL announced any punishment if any? What's the hold up and reasons behind it?

Been thinking long and hard about this and have come to the conclusion that any points deduction, will not be announced until the season is over.

Why? For the so called 'integrity' of the Championship. They want all teams to compete fairly on the pitch, they do not want teams fighting for their lives coming up against teams already on the beach. It seems that every day there is a game that can affect the relegation places from the Championship.

If Wednesday are given a 12 point deduction now, how will that effect the players moral? How will teams like Boro, Birmingham and Huddersfield react knowing that they are virtually safe - especially if they're playing teams below them who aren't? And all three are playing Clubs below them in the league.

I think you have given this more thought than the EFL will have.....as this is a totally logical approach for everyone apart from us, unless we know our punishment
