Well, this isn't true is it, cos the rule with Wigan is their points will be deducted this season if they're outside of the relegation zone, thus easily automatically relegating them.

Indeed, they won't deduct the points if they are relegated without a deduction, showing a particularly relegation-minded thinking behind the deductions.

92.1 The Disciplinary Commission may at any time make a decision, and may make more than one decision at different times on different aspects of the matters to be determined.

92.2 A decision may:

92.2.1 order a party to do or refrain from doing anything;

92.2.2 order a specific performance;

92.2.3 make a declaration on any matter to be determined;

92.2.4 issue a reprimand or warning as to the future conduct of a party;

92.2.5 order the payment of compensation to The League, any Club, any other club, Player or other person;

92.2.6 order a suspension of membership of The League;

92.2.7 order a deduction of points;

92.2.8 impose a financial penalty payable to The League;

92.2.9 recommend expulsion from membership of The League;

92.2.10 order a withdrawal or loss of benefit otherwise available to members of The League e.g. basic award or ladder payment;

92.2.11 impose an embargo on registration of Players;

92.2.12 order any other sanction as the Disciplinary Commission may think fit; and

92.2.13 order that interest be payable on any sums awarded under this Regulation for such period and at such rates as the Disciplinary Commission thinks fit.

92.3 These sanctions may be imposed immediately or may be deferred or suspended for such period and on such terms as the Disciplinary Commission shall decide.

Isn’t that why they’re appealing though? And if they’ve been in admin a week, why haven’t their points come off already, regardless of appeal?

Because the points were never going to come off straight away. The decision was that their points would be deducted at the end of the season if they finish the season outside of the relegation zone, if they finish in the relegation zone they're deducted next season.

Not arguing with that SO. Question is; why aren’t Wigan bottom with 41 points?

Fair enough. So they can get a deduction after games have finished which sends them down?

That’s what I meant re the deduction. I don’t  think they can  take 12 off us if there’s only 9 to play for. Automatically relegating us.

No they can. They can't take points off us if we were already down

Eg if we went down by 10 points and the punishment was -9 points then they would carry over.

If we survive by 8 points they can still take off 9 and we'd be down

Mrs Serg doesn’t mind if I arrive late on the scene.

A bit like an old 6 furlong sprinter.

“comes with a late rattle...”

Along usually I get worked up in the preliminaries and make a mess at the start.

Exactly, ridiculous isn't it? I find the second part particularly cruel, that if they get themselves relegated on their own terms this season they'll deduct the points for the start of their L1 season.

Shows a certain heartlessness given that they supposedly ok-ed the new owners barely a month ago.

Have you forgotten what Leeds did, which is why the rules were changed?

That Parry interview is hilarious if you read it closely.

We did everything correctly re the new owners. Large parts of the process are self certification :biggrin:

Have you got some money: yes

Are you dodgy: no

You’re in.

Don't get your knickers in a twist people, the verdict isn't in the public domain yet so nothing we can do about it anyway.

We do know, if it puts the club in danger of relegation DC will move heaven and earth to appeal.

Let's concentrate on not losing at QPR tomorrow first.
